Greetings from Canada Lucy! I’ve just picked up an accordion again after 30 years and I was hammering away at this very song trying to figure this out! (I don’t know how to read music so seeing the actual fingering is soo helpful) Watching your video was like winning the lottery! A heartfelt thanks for this. I’ve watched a lot of your videos and I’m falling in love with the accordion all over again. Love the tutorials! You play magnificently by the way!

Lucy, Lucy Lucy! Thank you so much for this approach you took two years ago and it's just what the doctor had ordered for me here and now. I have been making progress on a few of your tutorials, in many cases focusing on the melody and continuing to practice treble while you demonstrate bass. I can keyboard 'Bella Ciao' all day long, been having bass only runs of that one lately.. Anyway I liked this video so I must have watched it or started to at some point but when I saw that you started out teaching the driving force of the song coming from the left hand, a HUGE thank you for this one! :)

Acordes: Ré menor e Lá menor é com indicador, Fá Maior e Dó Maior é com médio. Muitos parabéns Lucy, Tu trocaste bem com mão esquerda e os botões :)

Can I ask why the tutorial is different from your performance? Perhaps some changes due to your own rendition... just seems like the music sheet online doesn't match any (not only yours) of the tutorials. Thanks for you video, looking forward to your feedback!
@accordionlucy24 күн бұрын
There seems to be quite a lot of versions out there. I've been playing for memory for so many years, I can't remember which version I learnt from. Often my performance videos sound different to the tutorials because I am using a lot of bellows techniques and touch effects. I use the bellows to accent certain notes and I hold certain buttons down for slightly longer to emphasize them and play other notes more detached. This tutorial teaches you which buttons to push but it doesn't explain how to perform the piece expressively. That's something that's hard for me to do in a video without a one-on-one lesson.

Lucy, one question, the song, the original song i mean, is at 96BPM? Or you set 96BPM just for practice? Maybe is a great instructional video of how to use the Metronome, or how to detect the BPM for each song? Sometimes i feel that i practice the Walts de Amelie more fast.
@accordionlucy4 жыл бұрын
Hello Edgar. Good question. I set this tempo for practise. I would recommend performing it around 192BPM

Thanks for a great job. Your lessons are very helpful. By the way, you are playing section 2/7 part 3/4: d e f e f e d ... the last d shouldn't be e? I found this in my sheet music and I am not sure if it is correct.
@accordionlucy4 жыл бұрын
Thank you. I am glad they are helping you. The particular arrangement that I have learned has a D, but I have heard it also played with an E. Choose whichever pleases your ear.

Very good tutorial-I wish you could do one on a piano
@accordionlucy4 жыл бұрын
Thank you! Well, the right hand would be exactly the same on piano, you would just need to play chords in the bass on piano rather than pressing bass buttons. I think there might already be a good tutorial for this tune on KZbin for piano!

Lucy Riddett Thank you for that Lucy I think that there is one but perhaps everyone would like to see Your version

i dont understand where section 3 and onward come from. i dont hear them in the original, are they your compositions?
@gageiannitelli69943 жыл бұрын
seems to be that way. A few notes are different in the first few sections as well. You could always just stop at the 3rd section, but it is a really quick song and I think the other sections adds to the flavor

Hi there, I learned it by ear, so there's no sheet music for how I play it. The video I learned from is Dave Thomas - La Noyee solo.

Hi Lucy. Good to know you are fine. You are also missed here. I have a question: How should I deal with timing problems when playing with both hands? I'm struggling with it. Kind regards.

Hi Lucy, I just wanted to say that I was too hasty and that I do not consider you my personal instructor so I apologies for that. I will just keep practicing and become better. Thank your videos and I am glad to know you are alright. Regards.
