I wholeheartedly agree that this song is so quintessential SM! I mean, it should be obvious by now since they /are/ supposed to be the embodiment of everything SM, but it's still impressive how SM has its own signature musical stylings to look out for, yet constantly raise their own bar with every release.

Baekhyun is still taking vocal lessons. As Baekhyun stans so proud that he improved himself so much. He hit those notes clearly even during live perfomances.

His live performance in The Stage and GMA is absolutely amazing. The only way I can tell he is singing live is at the end high note he has to “slide” on to it a little bit (not a bad thing) because every other line is absolutely perfect. SM truly fed their vocalists CDs.

If this is a good example of the SM house sound then I am a fan of it. I also enjoy the way the song just propels you forward and is just so energetic and “pumped”. Some combination of the percussion, the speed and the bass line help make the song the musical equivalent of an espresso shot for me. Thanks for the reaction!

I genuinely am blown away by how SM manages to give every group their signature sound and STILL is able to give SuperM an "SM Salad" sound and visual. i was so happy when you talked about the major parts in the bridge and the one not-quite interval with the spoken and then the tritone/5th (A4) above it and also how Baekhyun’s high note is even higher than jopping because those were the parts i fangirled over during my first listen but my friends don’t understand anything i’m talking about

The main theme will be love, displayed in various forms of love songs in a variety of genres that can only be done by NCT 127 in the expression of 127 style. What I like about SMP is the grungy/rough edge of both the music and performance. TVXQ’s Rising Sun and O.Jung.Ban.Hap comes to mind. With regards to SuperM though, their title track/pre-releases are still undeniably SMP but feels more polished. I do prefer Jopping over 100, at times this track can sound glitchy and not as seamless. Definitely will have to give a few more listens though. SMP songs are not the easiest to get into especially if you’re targeting a new audience ie what SuperM is created for.

It feels like many superm songs are structured in a way where taemin (sometimes) starts the song with one line and then doesnt appear until the 2nd pre-chorus or even the bridge but then he got a longer line for himself and adlibs towards the end which then even make him catch up to baekhyun in line distribution, I wonder why they always go that route
