What number pencil are you using and what kind of paper are you drawing onI can see it has some tooth to the surface allowing you to get nice dark lines and soft shadows?

I have been drawing people for over forty years and I can see I need to study your technique to get as refined and detailed as you are in defining the details of the model and its your layout mapping that sets everything in perfect alignment for the actual rendering of the details. I like your work and your style and want to learn from you .

I wish there was narrative during the initial layout saying why he does the circle the way he does in the steps to line things up in the features of the face. For instance there is no mention why a second circle within the first circle and no mention of numbers for spacing the eyes apart and the dropdown to the bottom of the nose,why the nose is detailed first.I understand that the center of the eyes line up with the corners of the mouth and nostrils with the inside corner of the eye. I see great techniques but no tips on why the techniques are done in these steps..I am not criticizing your process the results are amazing.I can see your creating a map of the contours of the face with light touches of the pencil and all of your models have very nice features with details that stand out but nicely defined.
