Imma be getting them ALL. They always brighten up my day. Obviously 1 and 2 are the best, but I don't hate three and four. They have charm and I really like the ending of the fourth one. That message that we all live in the same world, help each other and love each other and there will be Peace, had never been truer. Too bad that with the bad effects and story, people overlook it.still. I adore it.

Definitely picking this up, UNLESS the individual releases come out around the same time. At this time there are no pre-orders for the individual films in 4k, steelbook or otherwise, which I'll admit is likely a deliberate choice to entice more people to spend the big bucks. My ideal Blu-ray/4K collection of Superman would be: - Superman: The Movie Theatrical and Special Editions - Superman II: Theatrical and Special Editions - Max Fleischer's Superman - Superman: The Animated Series I don't hate 3 or 4, but I wouldn't exactly be in a rush to buy them either.

Personally I'm a huge Superman fan and I am absolutely getting this set. The art on the steelbooks are fantastic and I've been waiting for one of these steel box sets... I wanted the Rambo set but they never sold that in Canada.

I have the Batman 4K collection that came in a steel case like this. It's definitely nice. Wish the Batman steels had original art like these. I'm torn, but I think I'm gonna go 1 and 2. I've never seen 3, and 4 I've seen the most as a kid, but it seems laughable...

@@4K_Kings 3 is better than 4 but they are both bad.. the best stuff in 3 is Clark going back to Smallville and an extensive fight scene between two Christopher Reeves as good and bad Supermans. Richard Pryor never gets much to work with in this movie but it's always fun watching him anyways The donner cut is less goofy than the theatrical cut of 2. I think they reworked the effects for this new 4k remaster as well so it should look better than the original cut. The BluRay set you mentioned I have now and it's also amazing. I believe it has more than what is being ported to this set. It had so many docs and featurettes from different decades plus all the old fleischer cartoons from the 30s. Loaded set.. might be worth picking up for some as well.

Chris Reeve is Supes. Full stop. No one has even come close to capturing the character the way he did. Superman 1 and 2 were great. 3 and 4 had moments.

In the original plan the time warp was meant for part two but they were running out of time/ money and used it for the first movie and intended to rewrite part 2 if they got the chance - sadly dinner was fired so there’s no new ending The directors cut we got in 2006 was not what dinner would have done in 1980/81

Superman 2 steel book for sure! I would only get the House of 1000 for the behind the scenes disc. Rob Zombies behind the scenes and making of are better than his actual movies. It is like going to film school for 2 hours. As always, thanks fellas for another excellent video!

I am looking forward to the Training Day steelbook which I ordered from Zavvi before they canned international shipping. It just shipped out. The steelbook design isn't particularly attractive, but at least I won't be getting a standard blu-ray case 😅

Hey guys, your videos are cool 😎 and I enjoy watching them.... howeverrrrr I gotta pick you up on the spoiler comment though man... I think saying "once 20 years has gone by its okay to have spoilers; because if you haven't gotten around to seeing a particular movie, you don't care" is a pretty self absorbed thing to say and think. Cinema has been around for over 100 years and constantly invites new people in to watch older movies but also has an ever increasing catalogue where it becomes easy (especially for casual films fans) to miss movie releases entirely... even from 20 years ago...and still want to watch it today. For me as a new collector, I have Gatacca on my list of things to watch in 4k, having not heard of it until last year would you believe!? I am from the UK and maybe it didn't do too well here, but being a big sci-fi and dystopian movie fan at 9 years old in 97 and having seen Terminator 2 by that age... I was still completely unaware of it until 2022. I think maybe the comment by yourselves was a brainfart moment; considering the focus of your channel and upon reflection you'd retract it. But just for the sake of saying it, I will add... ruining movies by allowing spoilers for movies to be part of the art cover isn't something I think helps showcase older movies to younger generations. I mean imagine they put Bruce Willis in a certain fashion on the cover of Sixth Sense (wink wink nod nod 👻) With the Internet it's easy to find out about any movie but it doesn't mean we can ruin experiences of great movies for generations to come by accepting spoilers on artwork, or even in these new 4k trailers they produce for remastered older films (often show wayyyyy too much). Sorry for rambling on but it really isn't something movie collectors should accept imo 😁 That one critique aside... from what I've seen... you guys are doing an excellent job and I particularly like the aspect of editing in snippets of movies you're talking about interwoven into your videos. It's very well done and having this, amongst the good detail and solid knowledge/opinions you guys express fairly consistently means I have to say I think you deserve more subs! That's what I reallllly wanted to say lol 😆 😊👍🏻

Thank you for your thorough and well thought out comment. I do agree. In most cases we try not to include spoilers, or if we do, bleep them out. I think some of what we were talking about got edited out a little bit, because we did discuss if Sixth Sense were a steelbook today, it probably would get spoiled. I totally appreciate what you're saying, and I think spoiling the movies on the covers themselves is lousy. On the other hand, considering who the studios are marketing these movies to, it doesn't seem like they care about the younger generations and just marketing it to people that love these movies to begin with. Not that it's right, but I don't think we're going to see them stop anytime soon. Really appreciate your compliments, and we're happy to have you in this community.

the Superman collection looks slick (It does miss the mark imo) They should’ve added Supergirl (1984) within the set! the film itself was a bomb but, it’s gained a cult following has two different cuts and is a interesting 80’s Super hero film Supergirl is 10x’s better then Superman 4 (I’ll get it but, wait on a sale) They could’ve added Return of Superman to the set to pad it out as well) It’s not exactly the ultimate collection missing two films imo WB is in such a odd spot in 2023 (I don’t trust them with the Discovery merger) but, all this chaos will remain for decades to come like the AOL/Time Warner merger 😮

I own the tin box dvd and the bluray sets. I own the individual dvds with original artwork. Love these movies but no way I'm paying 140 euros for a triple dip. I will wait for a regular 40 euro or less 4k collection from amazon spain just like I did with the back to the future and the indiana jones sets. Sadly we are not geting the alternate cuts from 3 and 4 and no new special features so not much of an incentive for me at least.

Would love to know if this release of Superman 4 will finally have the complete set of deleted scenes. For Chris Reeve-era purists, this has been long-awaited. There is an infamous long "date night" scene at "The Metro Club" that was missing from the previous Anthology box set release allegedly held back due to music licensing issues.

Everyone is getting the 4K Steel collection. There is also a non steel collection. The UK is selling them singly as well. No difference in the discs as far as we can tell.

I’ll be honest, I’m really burnt out on SteelBooks. While I can totally admire the artistry, the spot-glossing, embossed lettering, and all the other little details, the prices are just too high, and besides boutique labels, it feels like most retailers put very little care into storing and shipping their merchandise, resulting in a lot of OCD attacks, for both me and many collectors I know. The Lionsgate slipcovers help some, but even then I’ve ended up with dents and dings. Honestly, I think it’s time to come up with some other, more sturdier style of packaging, when it comes to limited edition releases. I don’t really need Superman III and IV, so I’ll stick with the individual standard releases; still kinda disappointed that they didn’t decide to include the extended TV cut of the first film, seeing as how they already have a Warner Archive edition ready to go; but hey, perhaps the existing materials wasn’t enough to warrant a 4K; but in that case, couldn’t they have included the blu ray as a bonus disc? Either way, great video, as always!!

I hear you... I seem to be lucky in regards to steelbook shipments, the only time I had an issue with a dent was ordering from eBay (which is partially on me for resorting to eBay). I would like to see an in between, which is what I believe you're saying. It seems we get a majority of great steels OR great packaging that is absurdly limited and priced. Nice packaging in the mid range would be great for a lot of releases that I'm on the fence about purchasing (Superman is in that category for me, even since shooting this vid I believe I'm only going to get the original and skip 2).

@@russceasetheruss5360 funny, not to jinx myself, but it’s eBay where I’ve had the most luck-not that I’ve purchased that many SteelBooks on that site-but in general it tends to come from collectors, who they themselves have been there before, so they take extra precaution when shipping. Yeah, I just wish we could see an evolution of the style; I figured all these years later they’d reinforce the structure of the SteelBook, to prevent denting, or perhaps scratch-resistant paint. Or maybe start doing what Arrow does, and include the SteelBook inside a hard case with a book, like studios used to do for big title releases. Other than SteelBooks and box sets, it feels like major labels have forgotten what they used to do with physical releases; so often I’ll come across gorgeously designed packages for DVD releases, and it feels like forever ago that studios used to appreciate the art of putting out a physical release of their product. As for the Superman releases, they are beautiful Steels, but I’m actually okay with my blu rays of 1 & 2; had they included the TV extended cut with the first film, I might’ve considered. And I still have that amazing tin box set from back in the DVD days, with Superman Returns included, and all the bonus discs.

Superman III is worth it just for Richard Pryor. He talents are kinda wasted but still. Superman II: The Donner Cut is good but some of the new scenes were trash. However I have preordered the collection from Zavvi.
