Kubla Khan Took the words outta my mouth. Man today everyone is so spoiled, a new superhero movie comes out every 4 months lol We're so used to cgi now that we're not impressed with anything. We take these huge production scenes for granted But back in the days of miniature, n practical effects it was a treat to see these. The epicness n sense of awe are pretty much gone. Not to knock on the new movies they are actually great for the most part.

"Superman: The Movie" is my favorite Superman movie. Watching these candid scenes is like watching Michaelangelo painting the Sistine chapel. Seeing the finished product was fantastic. I'll never forget the Lois Lane interview with Superman. As he took her flying, the John Williams music with Margot Kidder's asking "Can You Read My Mind?". Or when Superman is wracked with sorrow when Lois Lane is killed in the earthquake. And makes the decision to break the rules by turning back time to save her. Starting with the Salkind's and Richard Donner, they gathered an impeccable crew of dedicated artists. I'll borrow another's quote, "It's a pleasure to watch you work".

I know that many people hated Brando's way of working; being difficult, reading from cue-cards instead of memorizing his lines, etc. He certainly had his own way of doing things, and he pocketed four million for only eight minutes of footage. Great footage!! In my opinion, Christopher Reeve was born to play Superman. He had the look, the build, the height, everything!! Reeve's playing of Clark Kent/Superman was perect. Playing Kent as a clumsy, socially awkward reporter was a great idea, while also parting his hair on the opposite side as Superman, making the appearance a little more subtle. Also regarding the "your ass" comment below, I myself always thought that was what Zodd was saying as well, but I think he's saying, "both you and then one day, your heirs!!!", meaning the son of Jorel. Awesome footage here!!
