Just bought the cover with him in the sky and sun instead of direct market cover. The size upgrade is really what convinced me to buy this new edition in place of my paperback. I do enjoy Mark Waid's writing and I am only missing one issue of his World's Finest run. I just learned a long time ago not to miss out on any sort of Waid work.

@@NearMintCondition not even empty space, I think it doesn't even fit the books story, they're isn't that much Kryptonian robots and such in the story. They're barely in it, and they put it on the cover lol

Nice to see DC giving Superman some love this year. I live in hope that some day we'll get omnis or new trades collecting the triangle years, the post death and return books and a New Krypton omnibus. Supes has so many gaps in his run that need to be filled!

The back of the Standard Edition cover also has a massive image of Superman with his glasses on, and spine isn’t white. I’ve been so excited about this one!! I’m happy DC is doing DM covers but do feel they could pick better ones….

I loved this origin story. Came out when I was in high school and you can see how “Smallville” influenced parts of this story.

Love this story of Mark Waid, got me into comics back in 2004 along with Hush storyline, Mark Waid Understand Superman like non other, writing at its BEST 👌 & I love the Science Fiction aspect of Krypton reminds of a Jodoverse terms of Design & realistic Aspect of the World of Krypton might had been. thanks Uncanny Omar for this Overview

I've been wanting this in deluxe format for a long time because I hated the original hc edition. It had no chapter breaks and that is my biggest pet peeve in collected editions. Glad to see it's getting a proper treatment.

Great Superman story, really glad it's in print again and with the deluxe edition upgrade. Not sure what the official Superman origin is currently, maybe it defaulted back to Johns, but it would be cool if Waid referred to Birthright in his new stuff. DC's current continuity is such a mess I figure embracing the paradoxes and contradictions is just easier Like others have said I wish DC had more faith in Superman and would put out more than just origin stories. Would love to see Panic in the Sky, Day of the Krypton Man, Krisis of the Krimson Kryptonite, Time and Time Again, and so many more get the deluxe or omni treatment. Oh, and thank you, Omar! I've really been looking forward to this review.

I still have the issues and the original Hardcover publication. this book deserves the absolute treatment, no doubt about it.. thinking about getting this edition as well, just to increase the sales, so those fatcats at DC are noticing, hey waitta minute, this book is selling, let's milk this puppy for what it's worth, what other types of editions can we get out of this so we can get richer (Because that's what DC is actually wanting, because they don't care about readers as much as marvel does, prove me wrong people at DC, i dare you!, prove me that you aren't all about making money, by getting me the ABSOLUTE edition of Birthright, by selling me the Superman Birthright ABSOLUTE edition!! )

17:00 Offcourse it hard to see because it is glued not sewn 🙃 Man this is ridiculous, you buy tons of this books and you don't know when book is glued or sewn, for example this same binding that have Boys omnibuses for example. DC don't do sewn deluxe or standard hardcovers from some time.
