I guess I'm not only one who likes Superman III. And Superman III was 1 of 6 third parts to be released in 1983. The other 5 were: "Triumphs of a Man Called Horse", "Return of the Jedi" (actually 6th part of the Star Wars saga, but it's the 3rd part of the middle (original) trilogy), "Jaws 3-D", "Smokey and the Bandit III" and "Emerald Cities".

Christopher Reeve was not happy with the film, and often expressed in interviews that he hated how it turned out. He initially swore never to play the role again. He was persuaded to make Superman IV: The Quest for Peace (1987) in exchange for more input on the script. This is first time Christopher Reeve had top billing in a Superman movie. The video game Ross Webster plays was created for the film. It originally looked so life-like that the creators were asked to make it look more computer-like. The ski slope outside Ross Webster's penthouse took three months to build at Pinewood Studios, and 17 tons of salt was used as snow. Pamela Stephenson modelled Lorelei Ambrosia after Marilyn Monroe. The musical tones from the video game Ross Webster is playing are from the Atari 2600 version of Pac-Man (1980). This would be used again in My Blue Heaven (1990). This movie was originally going to involve Supergirl's origin story, and a battle between her, Superman and Brainiac The film was released in the year of Superman's 45th anniversary. Jennifer Jason Leigh was originally set to star as Lana Lang. She turned down the role because she was too young. Christopher Reeve wore wigs throughout this movie and Superman IV: The Quest for Peace (1987). Geoffrey Steele's final film. at around 39 mins) During the picnic scene, Clark is wearing his red Smallville sweater over his back and shoulders in a clear reference to his cape worn as Superman. (at around 49 mins) This movie features one of the first appearances of an ATM in a movie. Future Superman Henry Cavill was born 2 months before the movie was released in the United States. (at around 23 mins) Ma Kent doesn't appear in this movie. She is deceased. Clark doesn't mention her. Lana does, during her conversation with him after recognizing each other. While carrying potato salad and record albums, she referred to Ma(rtha) Kent in the past tense.

The very 1st time you see Superman of Steel in a Dark light & in a Dark costume , the inspiration for man of steel dark suit this film was meant to be another story " I still think introducing the comedy element still works " like with star trek lll - the voyage home ". The Supergirl film 1984 was meant to be part of the original story ,but it all got changed in two to separate films , I like both 😀😁

I saw this Trailer before Return of the Jedi started in ‘83 & as a 11 year old Kid,this Trailer looked so stupid the movie came on video almost a year later & rented it,& Superman 3 wasn’t that bad,because when the movie had bad moments the movie sure did & Superman 3 had a lot of great moments so overall it’s a fun movie,although it can’t touch Superman 1 & 2 & the follow up to Superman 3,don’t get me started!

The trailer is wrong The computer machine did not transform Superman It was nicotine tar that Gus put in the kryptonite ingredient so that means if Superman smokes a cigarette he will become evil This movie was better than the first one A lot of people don't like this movie cuz they don't understand it... Gus and Webster was a pretty good team.. This movie exposed Superman in my opinion especially his weakness I got to give this movie a 7 1/2 out of a 10 This is a good movie if you understand it especially the part when Clark Kent came out the evil Superman because Clark Kent was the conscience he could not let this dude mess up his life and Superman life.. plus the fight was not reality it happens in Superman's brain what a movie Gus Gorman was a genius and Ross Webster was a evil genius..
