Superman's comment to General Lane about trust going both ways gets more and more ironic as he keeps holding back from telling Anderson Anything, about what's going on or what they're up against. Watch the entire episode, if Superman had told Anderson literally anything about the threat, about what Bizzaro was and what they were facing this would never have happened. But he held back because 'if we tell him he's just going to send in the Supermen of America'. Irony.
