@@theguyfromtsukihime3898 This. Marvel or DC, William's Superman theme is for everyone. I turned 56 this year. I was 14 when Richard Donner's Superman first came out in the theaters, and John William's music made us feel the wonder and excitement before the opening credits were even done. And to this day when I hear these opening strains, I'm a kid again and I shed a tear.

I wish I could go back in time and watch this movie all over again for the first time to experience that feeling again, or at least sit behind my 11 year old self and enjoy that initial reaction. It's downright impossible to sit still listening to this masterpiece. Something happens on both a primitive and a intellectual way. One gets bombarded with the feeling of adventure, love, action, joy... it's bliss. I don't think there are a theme that captures any other character as well as Williams "Superman". The music is the embodiment of the hero. I remember how the room was packed in the cinema in the little town in Sweden in which I lived. I was 11 yo. Halfway through the main titles people started humming the theme, some put their hands up in tune with the music and after Richard Donners name flashed by applause started. But it was nothing compared to the cheers and applause in the end when Superman winked and flied off. It was the first movie I saw at the cinema (aside childrens movies). I was completely overhelmed. This was the benchmark for every movie I've seen since and boy - I thought ever "grown up" movie was as good... but alas. At the school everyone (but the girls for some reason) talked over each other about the movie. All of the original party (seven of us) went to the next showing (and got all the parents to give us money for it) and we had an even bigger blast. Probably the best movie experience of my life... so far. Sidenote: why the hell doesn't movies nowadays have main titles!?

I was just a kid seeing that movie. It was Mom's favorite. I'm 42 now, she's gone, Chris Reeve is too, but I still have this.

That opening... with the Crescendo to the synphony... not gonna lie, tightens my throat every single time.

As a young kid with no father in the very early 80s... Superman made me feel safe somehow. Made me think i could be the one to protect the defenseless and the innocent. And this song would absolutely make my little chest poke out and would make me stand tall. Christopher Reeves is the only person i think of when i hear this Symphony. Henry Cavill you filled the shoes well, truly, but i will never think of you when i hear this. Thank you Mr Williams! Thank you Christopher Reeves for making me believe in a better world where men stood strong and didnt let their morals be corrupted by foolishness.

Do you know how popular Superman is? My father was an immigrant's son born in the Philippines, yet loved Superman and his ideals till the day he passed away. He has Superman watch and clock as his most treasured belongings
