Would love to, but not so far from me (Portugal). Any chance your orquestra would play nearer (like Spain, or even better here in Portugal) for example? Love to see / hear your performances from the movie themes. Please never stop posting these masterpieces, and truly honouring their original composers! Cheers from Portugal!

Soundtrack maybe, but the movie is the top for Italian westerns. Can't compete with The Searchers starring John Wayne and some others in overall westerns. Although a great western it cannot compete with John Ford's vision. I don't even think Leone would say it did.

We are travelers on a cosmic journey- stardust, swirling and dancing in the eddies and whirlpools of infinity. Life is eternal. But the expressions of life ephemeral, momentary, transient. Gautama Buddha, the founder of Buddhism, once said, "This existence of ours is as transient as autumn clouds. To watch the birth and death of beings is like looking at the movements of a dance. A lifetime is like a flash of lightning in the sky, rushing by like a torrent own a steep mountain." We have stopped for a moment to encounter each other, to meet, to love, to share. This is a precious moment, but it is transient. It is a little parenthesis in eternity. If we share with caring, lightheartedness, and love, we will create abundance and joy for each other. And then this moment will have been worthwhile. Many have given a lot sharing their love and talent like Ennio Morricone bringing to millions exceptional music and harmony.

This song will always represent a key moment in my life. I remember having to take the GRE to get into my masters in statistics program because I was a terrible undergrad student. Math portion was the main section they wanted me to score high on. Had to beat the 85th percentile. I took that damned test 3 times. The first two times I only managed to get into the 50’s. The task seemed impossible to me. I didn’t have a track record that provided me any confidence. Before taking the test a third time I studied rigorously every day and night. Constantly preparing and constantly working myself dead tired. Using my savings to carry myself for the limited time I could… Before my final test I had a brief moment to calm myself down. I played this exact song from this orchestra, got out of my car, and took the GRE. I got the 87th percentile and finally had enough to show I was worthy of getting into that degree. This song will always be of great importance to me. I also completed that masters degree with 4.0. I played this song before my final exam. Now as I shoot for for PhD, I will play this song once more before I defend my dissertation.

I know how you feel sir. I lost my dad 3 years ago. Let it comfort you to think that he helped you to appreciate music like this and therefore he is still within you enjoying it with you. That is what helps me anyway. Thanks for your comment.

@stormy, Though I totally agree with you, I do however think that the dislikes are for the type of music and not the abilities of the Orchestra. You just can't please everybody.

Listening to this masterpiece takes me way back to the seventies and reflect on the passing of time. The film is an absolute cracker and the cemetery scene takes a world of beating.

This is the music that grabs your emotions, and won't let go. The sound engineering on this piece is fabulous, as is the interplay between the to lead women vocalists. The overall effect is out of this world

You are right. The soundtrack album, on 33 rpm record I bought years ago, is nothing short of fantastic. The GB&U is great because of the music and the music is great because of the GB&U movie. Perfect.
