it sounds like you're doing everything right. two questions, can you ctrl click on the extrusion shape to make a selection? maybe you can try doing it backwards, select the extrusion shape then the logo shape. also if you select the logo, when you hold ctrl shift and hover over the extrusion layer does the cursor change to a square with a plus sign? if not then something is off. also make sure you're clicking directly over the layer thumbnail. Hope this helps!

To Awesome... I truly love it. No doubt the best tut i've experienced on youtube. Instead of man of steal I put "Man of salvation".... Working on placing a cross behind the logo. I'm a beginner, but you've given me great ground work to confidently try placing a cross in there. Lot of pauses, about 4 hours later, success. Hopefully the cross works out great for me. Thanks again

What do you mean by not loosing anything? if you save as a JPG you still have all the effects and you can just print the file. If you're worried about resolution, dpi, etc. You can always save as a PDF. I'm sure your printer will accept that.

I've said it before, but I couldn't be more grateful for the welcome addition of the curvature pen tool included in PS CC 2018! When you're first exposed to how it works, it's so intuitive and much more user friendly that one cannot help but wonder how or why it took so long for Adobe to catch on and make this inclusion sooner. In my opinion, this is a rare example of tool or feature that was significantly improved it's operation over the original pen tool so greatly that they decided NOT to completely replace the original tool for some reason. I have a hard time imagining any users that have mastered the pen tool fearing of being alienated by having to learn how to use the curvature pen. Anyone who continues to stick with utilizing the now cumbersome, obsolete pen tool after trying this new superior one is either dumb, stubborn, or doesn't care about streamlining workflow. I know that sounds harsh, but it's as if they decided to still include 'Refine Edge' along with superior 'Select and Mask'! It's not like the lasso tool and polygonal lasso tool, where they're basically used the same way by using modifier keys to switch between them. There's nothing that separates the end result of the pen tools, but one is just faster and easier to use! Needless to say, I'm obviously pretty enthusiastic and fired up about this curvature pen tool lol. I completely removed it from my toolbar.

First of all, thanks for watching and commenting! Second, this video is already 45 minutes long! I have to go fast to get it all in there in a reasonable amount of time. Also, you can pause and rewind, and watch it as many times as you want to get it right! Why not a "readable text format"? Well, first this is KZbin (videos), and second I'm doing this for free man! Doing a written tutorial on my website would take 3-4 more hours out of my day!

I'm totally lost at 9:50. I've created a logo similar to this by copying some pixel parts together. So now i want to trace it with the pen tool. I'm doing the exact same thing that you are doing. However, when I click on "adjustment layer" and click "solid color", the whole image that I'm working on turns into one solid color. Can you please help me out? I've done it 4 times already and everytime it's ending in the same scenario. It's getting frustrating :( Please help me out! Thanks in advance.

JPG files lose quality, that's just the way they are, but things should still look OK. Make sure you "save as jpg" and save at the highest possible quality. You can also try PNG as well. If they can print JPG it would be odd for them not to do PNG. Hope this helps, good luck!

Woah! I just completed the project. Took me a while though. I used it to include our webradio's logo, instead of the S (Essentiel radio) ; looks pretty good. I can't put it in my deviant account though, because the radio wants to be first to use it. But if you stay posted to our facebook page (essentiel radio) or website (google essentiel radio), around the 19th of June, you should see it (that's the french man of steel movie release). Thanks again! It is much appreciated!

Well my dilemma is I have created something similiar for dad on fathers day with techniques used in this tutorial and I haven't before used this amount of layers and blending modes. So I'm trying to print it at a store however I doubt they can except psd files and I'm already working at 300 dpi with more layers and stuff than this one so I'm just wondering how to get it to the right format without losing anything. Any help would be greatful this tutorial taught me alot!

NPGaming It's a radial gradient so the darker color is in the outside and the lighter color in the inside. The "highlight" is the lighter color in the inside. You can click and drag it to move it around.

I have a question about saving with something as many layers and blending modes like this. I need to save as a jpeg but when I do that and it merges and flattens the image I lose layer properties and blending modes and what I see as a psd isnt the same as Jpeg. How do I save as a jpeg so it looks the same?
@AlmightyChieftain12 жыл бұрын
I have come up till the highlight group part and stumble upon a problem. When you create that shape with click on logo and then control+shift click on extrusion it creates new shape, but that doesnt work for me. Whatever I try I just cant do that. It doesnt add shape on. Any idea how to solve this, if you understood any of what I wrote? :D

use legacy was switched on, you need to make it clear when you add a option that we know what is on and off in the option
