The Alan Moore during the image/awesome comics run was incredible and his supreme is a testament to it. Alan was like this is what I would do with Superman and twilight of the gods if DC didn't steal from me

I read this as a little kid, like 8 or 9, and hated it lol. Just reread it today and loved it. Brought me back to when I could buy comics at the gas station.

I remember picking up a few of these as a kid and loving the Veitch backup homage pieces. You should check out issue 53. There's a brillant story where Supreme fights Lil Abner, and Popeye all while told as a daily comic strip.

The whole chunk of Moore revising and rebooting the Awesome characters has always been more interesting to me than the very calculated feeling I get from the ABC books. The process of a creator figuring out something new and weird just has more energy than a writer who has all of the answers he needs.

You guys need to check out Fighting American Preview Edition of Stephen Platt and compare it to Fighting American #1 his raw pencils in the preview Edition are amazing but it gets lost in the coloured version

Man, you can spot the Rick Veitch and Bill Wray in that flashback art work. Bill Wray, I THINK is inking that sucker because Bills inking is very much a sort of EC era style. You guys should do Hellboy Jr.

I was wondering if you guys were going to cover it!

Futuroscope is a fun fair / park in France based around 'cinema'. Alan Moore clearly knew that :)

What a strange juxtaposition of styles. Do you think it was a conscious choice to pretty much illuminate the dull art in the 90's settings against the Veitch recreations of EC's era style? For the life of me, I can't understand the motivation to do that, except from an extreme skepticism, which I suppose is not beyond Mr. Moore.

Throughout this run Moore pokes fun at all the 90’s extreme cheese so I would say it’s very calculated. The funniest part is Rob paid him like 10k per script so he made bank making fun of all that stuff.
