@jeconiahjoelmichaelsiregar79175 жыл бұрын
Yeah but superheroes (at least in fiction) are limited by earthly laws and human rights. Maybe if it was an extraterrestrial villain like Darkseid, the whole world probably wouldn't care. If it was a regular crook however, they'd definitely lose public trust. Of course, an absolute psychopath like the Joker deserves a fate worse than death, but even then killing him doesn't warrant any gain. If anything, killing the Joker is giving him a free win because that means he managed to push your psyche to its breaking point. So while killing is definitely practical, there's a lot of implicit factors that play against it

@jeconiahjoelmichaelsiregar79175 жыл бұрын
@@jackgray2419 In the Arrowverse, we see Oliver Queen turn himself in for "his crimes as a vigilante". Now while most superheroes aren't vigilantes like Arrow, Batman and Red Hood, it is not outside the realm of law that they can be judged for murder and/or other actions deemed as a crime. There have been many instances where not only the JL but the Avengers as well have to coordinate with governments even though they have nothing to do with them in the first place. That way they can justify their actions and optimally pay for losses (as seen in the MCU where Stark Industries have been given the rights to 'cleaning up the mess' of the alien invasion). You can't have superpowered individuals just running and flying about killing baddies if they feel like it and fighting other superpowered beings to the point where they cause massive destruction and the loss of innocent lives, at least without someone to keep them in check or someone to justify their actions. As Batman said in JL: War, you have to realize the danger of out-of-control superpowered beings. Even then his Agamemnon contingency plans are to neutralize, not kill. That way they can bring the corrupt personnel to the court of law and be judged for their actions. Outright killing them would put anyone in a bad spot, JL and non-JL alike. The point is, superheroes, while they may not be bound by law, have to be held responsible for their actions. And of course the judgement of the JL/Avengers can be biased. The court of law is the only fair way to justify whatever a superhero (even more so a superpowered one) did. And in this case while it is most likely the court would shrug off Superman killing a mass murderer and terrorist as it is the only seemingly effective option against someone like the Joker, they would most likely not appreciate what Superman did afterwards. It's a combination of being held responsible and the mental drop after killing that makes it a big no-no for superheroes. It's a stupid moral code, but if superheroes are to ever stay in the light, they can't walk the path of darkness. Fighting fire with fire just makes a bigger flame, which is the case in Injustice (Joker kills, Superman kills, everything goes to chaos). And not everybody has the moral and mental resilience of Batman, the world is just full of people who break easily. Still wanna talk like I don't know anything?

While the Joker's death was definitely the thing that started it all, he was still redeemable but two things played out really stood out when I was reading this series and one of them was addressed, maybe both. 1) Batman.. doesn't really have a heart to heart with Supes 2) Wonderwoman. #1 was addressed at the very end of Injustice 2 as a special and honestly makes a ton of sense. Superman asked him to be his kid's Godfather! They're freaking best friends in this universe and he doesn't even try to grieve with his best friend! C'mon! I honestly think the true villain of the entire Injustice series is Wonderwoman. She's done so many shady things that fast-tracked Superman's rise to evil and it doesn't get talked about. Oh yeah, while reading through this, I gotta say I'm shocked that so many superheroes actually took Superman's side instead of Batman's side in this series. There was barely any dialogue trying to justify what Supes does until the moment Flash turns against the regime and by that time it was way too late. I found myself throwing my hands in the air questioning what the hell all the heroes were doing!

Then GA stupidly started shooting Superman with an arrow that bounced off and hit his father.

I do not support Superman's actions 90% of the times in this story. I agreed with Superman's tactics and approach until first half of year one. And some ideas would still work if he didn't go off the rails. That said, I have to argue some points here since you conveniently ignored some facts to the 5 deaths you showed. 1. Parademons. Who cares. They are mindless killing machines. Sometimes undead, sometimes reused / recycled populations of a conquered planet. The entire league killed them left, right and centre (even in the movies, comics and animated shows, Batman included). They are on the same level as Braniac drones and everyone kills them as well. As for Kaliback... he had it coming. He mocked Superman when he really should have just boomtubed home. Bad call of him, then again he was never the brightest new god. 2. Mogo. It's called self defence. Mogo and the guardian would not have backed off. And they would have killed him. Ganthet even ordered Mogo to do so. Dinah tried to 'murder' Superman first, so technically self defence as well. And Fate saved her, so Superman didn't 'murder' anyone in that crater. And let's be clear here. Clark called Ganthet out on his guardian BS. Where were the smurfs when Krypton was clearly invaded by an outside force - AKA Braniac? If they had tried and failed, Superman would be angry at their failure and not so receptive at the manipulation of Sinestro, but being angry at their lack of giving a single F about it was far worse. Hell in Injustice 2 game, Starfire does the same! Kori: "Do you help people?" GL: "On a good day, I think we do." Kori: "Where were you when Tamaran was sacked!?" 3. GA. Again, lack of context. Batman and lackeys break into his home. Where his parents were for safety after the US president had them kidnapped in a off the books operation. Also, Captain Atom (the biggest jerk there) also had an off the book mission from the president. Assassinate superman. Batmans track record of making bad calls with whom he teams up only gets worse from there on out. So... Supermans home was just broken into, there was an assassination attempt, he was KO-ed in orbit, Diana was badly injured, his home partially fall apart and an armed man he could no longer trust was next to his parents. call me paranoid, but I don't think anyone would be thinking clearly after that. PTSD perhaps? So yes, I agree killing GA was wrong, but mitigating circumstances. And Ga could have backed off and throw his bow away as well. 4. Luthor. OK, this guy... half of the 'bad' ideas the Regime had were originally his mess. The pills most of all. Then he developed a conciseness and instead of telling Supes (in lets say year one, when he was still not beyond reach) "Hey, I'm not going to do this anymore, I think we are going too far, let's try to talk about it... nope, he back stabs him from that point on. So I agree his death was evil, but I understand why Supes did it. Lying for 5 years like that would break anyone. Shazam... yeah, can't defend that one and won't. Pointless and evil. But again, why did Billy not come out with that in year one instead of year 6? Billy can be excused cause of hero worshipping and being a kid, Luthor has no excuse. 5. The Joker. OK, hands up. Who thinks the clown really needed to die. Even sooner than when Superman executed him, not murdered him. You execute a prisoner marked for that. And if Gordon and the justice system still wouldn't have had him executed, for killing millions, then there would be no hope for the DC justice system. Harley would deserve the same. I'm actually surprised no one else took the justice in their own hands and had him killed. All the families who were scared by him. Go do a fundraiser and pay Deadshot or Deathstroke to kill him or something. The Bat will only play the stupid games on and on and fill graveyards not solving the problem. My take on your rather poor attempt at this.
@jeconiahjoelmichaelsiregar79175 жыл бұрын
About the Joker, his evil crusade only serves one purpose and that is to get the Batman to kill him. He has a personal vendetta against the Batman and seeks to prove that everyone has a breaking point. So Batman isn't playing stupid; while he does get himself into helpless situations where the Joker claims so many innocent lives, he tries to keep a strong psyche and not fall into the Joker's ploy. Batman himself walks the line between light and dark and killing the Joker would just push him down the darker road. Is it a ridiculous moral code for Batman to follow? Yes, but that shows Batman unwavering strength to stay true to his image as a superhero who shouldn't kill. It's this tough mentality that Injustice Superman sadly doesn't have. It's ironic to see the Joker's plan succeed - partially. While he does end up dead and push someone to his breaking point, it wasn't the Batman. It was Superman, someone capable of so much more destruction than both him and Batman. Did he deserve it? Absolutely, he deserves far worse. But was it worth it? Hardly, considering the scale of destruction and lethality the Injustice wars have shown.

Yeah, totally. In all these scenarios superman was totally right. What a hero. I love how much of a great man he's become.
@jasontodd82965 жыл бұрын
@@halorecon9 And Batman has at least 50% of the blame for that. No talking, no consoling... I mean it took him 6 YEARS to finally say he's sorry. All I pointed out was how Superman was right in the first 6 months. After that I only pointed to the circumstances that would have made any action he took as less severe in a courtroom. If people like you say Harley is innocent cause BS like Stockholm syndrome, crazy or other stupid things, I can throw PTSD for Supes or betrayal,... so on. Or is it "Rules for thee but not for me?"
