Superman will probably have a small 2-5 second ad at the Super Bowl that just tells people to watch the full trailer online. Both Marvel and DC did this last year because its a waste of money to buy a 30 second ad in the middle of the game.

The Kingdom Come story is all about the over saturation and marketing of Superhero’s. James Gunn has said his story is heavily based off of that comic. We could see that reflected in tue marketing.

This is an interesting way for promoting the film. One thing I’m concerned is that Fantatsic Four first steps comes out on July 22nd and while I would love to see marvel have another hit, I do hope it doesn’t take the attention away from Superman too soon before it makes enough money to be a box office success.

Fantastic Four is going to be massively overshadowed by Superman, you can take that to the bank. F4 is being made by a studio that is heavily on the downswing, by a director with very little experience in films, a questionable cast, and the general public has never really vibed with the F4. It doesn't help that the movie has the dumbest title ever, among plenty of other problems. Marvel is starting the year out insanely poorly with that Spider-Man show, and they better hope the Daredevil "reboot" is exactly what it's supposed to be, otherwise alot of fans are gonna turn their back on Marvel for good. Marvel has alot of shit to wade thru before F4 ever arrives, the only way that movie builds and then, more importantly, maintains a level of hype is if every *other* Marvel project before it in '25 blows people away (and those odds are insanely slim, especially with the amount of projects they're releasing this year, including crap like Ironheart). With Superman, the movie has been filmed for months, whereas F4 isn't even done, and Superman has already generated a ton of hype organically. All DC needs to do is be smart about marketing and that movie will be a homerun. I honestly don't think F4 stands a chance. Superman is generating proper excitement, F4 is generating *a bit* of excitement, but people are generally way more reserved about it (if they even know it's coming out). I actually can't think of one person I know who is properly excited for F4. At best, it's "wait and see", at worst it's "I don't care" or "I'm not seeing it". Superman is a character people love, despite usually misunderstanding, and it's a movie written and directed by an actual writer/director, not some "jobber" Disney hired for the lowest price. F4 is stale and it's not even out of the oven yet. I don't think a first look at Julia Garner as the so-called Silver Surfer is gonna change anyone's mind.

The Super Bowl is on Fox I believe, and Disney now owns Fox, so they will likely have many ads for their upcoming films since they don't have to pay as much, if anything, for the ad space. Also Warner Bros. may not want to pay their rival for the ad space, and by having it on Discovery they can try and pull eyeballs to their channel (at least that is probably the thinking).

This sounds like the studio is not confident at all for this film. The strategy to not spend BIG on a marketing budget only to ENSURE that this fill can make all its money back and profit at the box office and not have to worry about the 2.5 percent usually have to make up for marketing. I don't mind Krypto being in the movie but it does suck that he's got powers cuz that means in about two years there's gonna be three heroes that can fly are invulnerable &shoot lasers from their eyes. Crimes from Kansas to Metropolis shouldn't exist with Superman, Krypto &Supergirl patrolling the area. I wanted Superman to have a normal everyday dog like everyone else &then Lex injures Krypto &Superman would need to give him powers to save his life or the loss of Krypto could be that first major death that impacts the hero but that's all gone now. Smart to not do a SuperBowl add the hype is already there they don't need it, not at that price

I think they got the money, but I do agree, they are probably trying to just play it smart. And I think they know they gotta be careful with their money on this because they are just starting the DCU, they gotta nail it. But also keep their budgets for production and marketing reasonable. So, who knows? I actually did a school research paper saying I think the Super Bowl should become a national holiday, and I did a ton of research and looked at all the numbers, and did you know, fun fact, in some areas, it actually will sell more than Christmas? Anyhoo, not the point, at that time doing that project lol, it was like, 5 mil at the time. Now, as you looked, it's 7 mil. Honestly, I don't see them doing a big full on trailer, they just did that a few weeks ago just a tad bit before Christmas with the first teaser. So, all I'm expecting is a clip with Krypto or something, maybe even Supergirl in the clip with Superman and Krypto since Krypto does play a part in the Woman of Tomorrow comic I think, and what better way to be like, "Hey, by the way, Supergirl is in production now" and tease Supergirl also.
