I don't care what people say, these new Superman movies just don't feel right without this theme. What I'm hoping for is that we'll get 3 or 4 solo movies with this Superman and we gradually, across those movies see Clark/Kal-El become more and more comfortable in his role as a Superhero, with the final film being his fully embracing it and learning how to balance his power with wisdom and patience, learning to overcome obstacles with more than just brute force. When that happens, that's the Superman that would earn this theme. As a piece of film making it would be a brilliant move to show how in MoS, he was a rookie who made mistakes, then by the end, he is experienced and the true hero we know him to be. The theme works better then.

Grumftheld Actually that whole rookie angle might be what they were going for. He made the mistake of making a rash decision to kill Zod, it tore him apart, and now he has an iron-clad reason not to kill.

This is one of the greatest motion picture themes ever written!!! I so ardently wish that they would have chosen to use it as the theme for the new Supergirl TV show. My reasoning is that it is not confined to Superman himself; but also to his cousin and mostly because it is so HEROIC in tone and it makes the heart leap!

If you actually loved comics, or what superheroes themselves stand for, you wouldn't be arguing over Bats or Superman. To me, Batman has had some the of best written comics of all time, and so I favor him. But Superman is an American icon. If you can't respect that fact, then shame on you. I came here to listen to this song out of nostalgia, because regardless of your preference, Superman is a classic. Fanboys need to get off their high horses.

For me, I favor Batman over any other, he showed me that you don't have to have special abilities to overcome those darkest demons, you don't need the best power in the world to help other people out, you just need willpower. He showed me that we all have times were we cant see the dark but you cant just stand still and weight for the light to find you, you have to find it yourself. And before you pull the "You have just seen the movies, in the comics he did some pretty messed up shit." I know, I have read the comics and I respect him for having those moments, that's what makes him human and even more respectable for me. superman will always be the perfect American icon and some people like that but I don't. He will never have a true place in my mind, he just isn't real, he is too perfect.
