I think what many folks don't remember is that before the dark knight, there were many younger folks who didn't quite grasp the potential of batman as a character and his mythos. I think much of the criticisms of Superman for a lot of people is that they don't understand his powers or his character. I do think once this movie comes out, we're gonna get A LOT of Superman fans similar to 08

The love for Lois, the saving of children, the fantastical aspect of heroes and monsters, the Sun piercing through ever scene, the robot reference (Allstar). This is hope, this is Superman. here's what I think is going to happen. act 1 is the Kaiju fight and Lex getting his hands on some Superman dna. Lex gets to experimenting on a Superman clone. We meet the cast and get to know some of them. act2 will be Ultraman doing something to frame Superman. Pretending to be Superman and breaking the law. Then the Maxwell Lord JL gets called in to bring him in. They refuse and Lex gets with Waller and gets Flagg , The Architect and Ultraman to bring him in. This is when the crowd turns on him.

So Happy. I love how we are seeing a new version of "The Terrifics". I think Guy Gardner and Hawkgirl are good replacement's for Plastique Man and Phantom Girl. Because he is at times careless and arrogant and she has serious identity issues. Which make for good story telling. James Gunn knows what he is doing as a writer.

When you were discussing the complaints of other heroes being in the world, my first thought was that one of the complaints about solo superhero movies is "why aren't other heroes responding to this big major disaster". This would make sense...why wouldn't other heroes show up when a kaiju attacks Metropolis?

The issue with MoS with the fight in Smallville and in Metropolis is that Superman would not fight in the city if innocent people are in danger, hed actively try to avoid it. MoS he took Zod to Smallville instead of fighting him in the field. Metropolis he doesnt even seem to care about the city or the people until the very end. Max Landis said it best Superman and Zod are adults amongst children.

I’m biased cause Henry will always be my superman. I think man of steel is a masterpiece and its criminal he never got a proper sequel. That said, David Corenswet looks like a good superman and the trailer looks pretty damn good. Some goofy stuff in it, a little concerned with so many characters, but overall i think the movie could be really good.

Superheroes already exist in this world, Guy Gardener is a douchebag, Mr. Terrific is super logical and analytical, Hawkgirl is a warrior with the morality to match, if they play into those personality types, Superman is going to contrast as the moral center, I think it’s going to be good to set him apart by comparison to the heroes that are present

I think the suit looks great (even though I hate the logo), the guy playing Superman really looks the part and although I hate the idea of Krypro in live action, I have to admit the dog looked great.

My logic brain wanted Krypto to be wearing a red harness with the S symbol on it instead of a cape despite what we get in the comics, but seeing him used the way he was I liked it. I also doubt he'll feature in a lot of the movie, so I'm all good with Krypto.

I loved the trailer, and combined with the JW inspired music, it got me a bit emotional. I'm really looking forward to the movie. As for Man of Steel, as a whole, I love the movie, but a few scenes really annoyed me and threatened to throw me out of the movie; however, the rest of the movie is so good that those scenes don't overshadow my overall enjoyment of the film. I do wish Superman had shown a bit more concern for all the people who were being killed during his fight with Zod in Metropolis, and that the movie had a scene where he at least attempted to lure Zod away from the city, even if unsuccessful. The destruction looked great onscreen, tho.

It drives me crazy when John says it makes no sense that Shuri was made the Black Panther.. I wanted them to recast and wish the movie didn't make her Black Panther but he's got to give us a break.. It's a royal family and the King died unexpectedly.. if it were game of thrones what would they do? They go to the next Royal in line... Not only that, but they had to redo the Black panther 2 script they had because Chadwick Boseman died unexpectedly.. not only that, Shuri was Black Panther in the comics. We all know it was a temporary title for her.. please give the movie makers, the close friends of Chadwick Boseman a break.

I liked but didn't love the trailer but I think it's what most people really want. A little bit of all the past movies and TV shows in balance. And Krypto - Krypto's great; it's a fresh way to humanize Clark that we haven't seen in the films yet. And it just looks gorgeous, the crisp, blue-tinted color grading signifies a break from both the DCEU and MCU styles.

Not a Zack Snyder fan but at least he gave Superman some gravitas but here we have Superman dragged across the snow by a dog wearing a small superman cape. Looks ridiculous and I tuned out then. We saw giant creatures attacking cities before and better in Avengers. The electric soft rock version of the Williams theme is dire. With all the giant budgets and special effects wizardary, Gunn is sadly lacking in the imagination department.

Superman literally explodes a gas station in MoS and slams Zod into populated buildings in Metropolis, then after the battle is over instead of rescuing the people beneath the rubble he just makes out with Lois right next to Zod's corpse and then just flies away, the criticisms are 100% justified

@pats3212 First off Zod was the one throwing Superman into buildings. 2nd you are conveniently forgetting the ppl he saved in the beginning of the movie, the military guys he saved during the Smallville fight and all the ppl he saved in BVS. He couldn't move the fight to another place. The Kryptonians wouldn't let him. Also every big bombastic superhero fight in cities has collateral damage. The damn MCU had to make a movie about it because it happened so much and thru all those movies b4 Civil War nobody complained about their heros not stopping in the middle of a fight to save ppl. Shoot the old Reves movies had city destruction with that Superman stopping like once to save someone and that someone is usually only Lois. Ppl need to stop this bullshit narrative that "superman didn't save enough" because they are mad that MoS didn't act like Reves. I liked Reves supes I grew up on it but ppl need to stop acting like it's the only way to be superman. Shoot the great JL cartoon and Superman the animated series acted differently and that was fine
