As someone who uses the hairstyle at 0:23, this is really accurate. I “This way!” a lot during Salmon Run and when I see the base isn’t properly inked and we’re in danger, I try my best to cover up as much space as possible, even if I don’t have the best painting weapon in the world. I occasionally super jump to dying teammates but that’s when I thought they were having a shot and could protect me only to die the second I land, leading to two deaths.

I would like to add, however, that just because I KNOW advanced tactics doesn't mean I am the best at actually performing them lol... That being said, a small bit of tech from Splatoon 1 still in the game that I don't see people using here is that mashing jump while swimming up a wall will make you climb it slightly faster. Of course, now that we have the option to hold B and jump out with some super-armor, it's a trade off, but give it a shot next time you notice a pillar in salmon run 👍

I play ponytail Octo, let's see how this holds up: I don't change weapons every match but I have switched around and tried a whole ton of weapons in an attempt to figure out which ones I like the most since I'm new to the game, and then once I found a few I like I keep them in stable rotation. I started the game with the splatfest demo and then again during the first week after the game release only playing Aerospray cause it was easy to understand, I have the most wins with it at 41 but I don't play it anymore since I started ranked battles. Since then I've tried out 33 different weapons, and my most utilized weapons so far are the Sploshing Machine and Dark Tetra Dualies with 39 wins each, Dualie Squelchers with 38 wins, Hydra Splatling with 19 wins, Reef Lux with 15 and the E-Liter 4k and Splat Dualies with 11 wins each. I'm Rank A- currently and during the grind up there I continued to stupidly try out new weapons for the first time in ranked mode which is similar to being the annoying person who keeps changing comps every match so I suppose it's safe to say that there is some truth to this actually 😭 I don't get tilted (most of the time) when I lose (given I straight matathoned the recent splatfest and was on a 20 loss streak and kept hyping up my friend and I lol) generally I stay calm more recently and watch my replays to get better at the game but during my push from C to B rank I got a bit flustered and tilted but that was because what I didn't understand at the time was that since the game was brand new all the really really good players were still also grinding their way up. Through sheer determination I managed to get to B rank though and since then I've managed to calm TF down lol so now this is true abt me so I'm counting it Defensive about Splatoon... hmm, I only just picked up the game with Splatoon 3 and I am enjoying it a ton, idk what constitutes as "overly defensive" here cause I'm new to the whole scene but I love the game and would defend it if someone was putting it down so....half true? 😅 Lastly wanted to point out the the Inkling ponytail hairstyle that's similar to the octoling one I use says "artist" and I'm also an artist lol
