A fun romp video. Both bikes are a blast to ride. That's why we all need multiple steeds in the stable, no matter what the wife says. ;) Still, anyone familiar with the two bikes know that the the superbike would leave supermoto for dead come the first straight-a-way. However, in the tight twisties, a different story may be told. Bottom line? It's all good.

Ive only ever ridden supermoto haha so I guess were kinda opposite. I rode a klr once, would never be able to hit a twisty road on one and have any fun with it :/ supermotos are suuper light. Mine is 80hp and 350 lbs. And all the torque is down low so its a super fun stunt machine, wheelie machine, jump off stuff go hit single track trails, or go hit the track. Supermotos are TONS of fun on go cart tracks with the suuper tight twists

Hi guys this is Dave I'm 58 now but when I was 17 I rode the first bike with clip-ons in Southern California Factory Suzuki t500 two-stroke twin I got lucky getting it nobody else could ride it full on pitching it sideways and s*** you wouldn't believe it no helmet tennis shoes no gloves. I've called I've called the ambulance on many people trying to keep up with me back then. Now I ride an xr600 street legal I was hoping you do me the honor of watching one of my videos. I have some techniques one is called cross arm tuck so when you're hauling ass down the freeway instead of squat arms Take your left-arm put it underneath your right handlebar and hold the throttle on put your elbows on the tank that's cross arm tuck it's awesome going in and out of cross arm tuck haul ass get set up for the corner and then go out of cross arm tuck to regular and then back into cross arm tuck after the corner as fun as f*** also downshifting with the gas on that way you come out of the corner at like eight grand or 10 grand depending on your bike you know little Jack Daniels tonight I would love to ride with you guys if you ever come to Vegas. I know I can't keep up but I'd still like it. hey if you watch my video please give me a comment would you nobody's ever commented. in the seventies I was the best Rider in California best road racer not track. catching air and s*** in between corners where I grew up with nothing but twisty roads and that's all I did every day is ride. kzbin.info/www/bejne/sIGthGaoqMt3aNk

Question for the experts: Why is that for example at 1:39 the supermoto needs to lean and knee down while at the same time the dirtbike is behind him just sitting upright in the seat? They are doing the same corner at the same speed. I'm asking because I watched the videos of Fortnine and Moto Control and I don't get it anymore...
@m-h1269 Жыл бұрын
Well, first off you’re confusing the bikes. The first bike is a superbike, the second a supermoto. The superbike rider’s lean means he can keep the bike more upright for the same turning radius as non lean. The supermoto however does an opposite lean which puts more pressure low on the tires, enabling tighter cornering but requires more lean of the bike. Thus you can see the supermoto is leaning more than the superbike. In conclusion, this overall means that the superbike can reach a higher maximum corner speed, while the supermoto lean enables tighter cornering. This however results in the supermoto lean reaching a maximum lean much quicker as the bike needs to lean more for equal turning.

A supermoto makes more sense for me on public roads than a superbike. They never took off in the USA. Maybe it was the tall, narrow seats, tiny fuel tanks & superbike prices. KTM nailed it with the Duke 690 but for the price it competed with the Yamaha MT-09 so it's no longer around. Suzuki still sells their carbureted DR-Z400SM for more money than their SV650 so maybe someone out there likes supermotos.
