Dad is emotionally absent. He literally ran away when he started to FEEL something. All the children are affected by Mariah's disability - the littles act out to get attention, and Taylor stuck in the middle needs reassurance that she's beautiful and important like her older sister. I hope both parents will take some one-on-one time with each daughter.

My mother was just like that, she would find all the flaws she could in my body, my clothes, anything I liked, even the people I talked to. This led me to avoid being near her the most I could and today, I literaly feel unconfortable and even disgusted sometimes when she tries to be "caring" towards me. Our relationship is near to non existing and she destroyed any self steem I've ever had. Like you said, my dream since I was 10 years old was to get very far away from her and I finally did it.

What saddens me is no one asked how Mariah was affected. She wasn’t even asked how she felt. Even Jo said she was in that wheel chair too much. All the attention went to her sisters. I feel bad for moriah she is probably so stressed out while everyone is just screaming and Taylor is just being her self and the poor mother has to deal with it all why the father does nothing

Everytime I watch this show I am more convinced that if people want to become parents they need to take classes about childhood development and how to handle parenthood

I find it interesting that the father hasn't made it clear that absolutely no one is allowed to strike his wife, not even his children.

That's another part of the problem was the parents have to bringa united front for the kids and the kids will follow the example
