Don has to psych himself up to enter his own house, while Diane is running out of energy trying to keep up.

This marriage is obviously doomed. Why does the mother behave like she’s in prison - she claims she can’t go outside (with that beautiful yard?!) and never takes the kids out anywhere, which is so weird. The kids are reacting to parents that are completely checked out. The parents also speak in the strangest monotone, which suggest extreme depression and likely other mental health issues. The mother’s constant referencing to “breaking” is not positive, and her ridiculous idea that kids should just “behave” like she did points to major issues with her own mental health.

You haven’t watched every episode, then. I can recall one single mom in an apartment and at least 2 portable homes. Remember, the families ask for HER help, maybe people in some homes are not inviting Supernanny in.

I did this regime with my sons thirty years ago…they used to sit on the bottom stair, until they realised their behaviour was unacceptable. How has everything gone wrong. My boys have grown up to be well adjusted caring parents.
