I agree. the boys were not really out of control. they're grieving the loss of their mother and needed help dealing with it. In spite of all this it is very important for the father to discipline his boys. In order to make changes within the family the father has to be gentle but firm. this is one of the rare occasions on supernanny that dealt more with dealing with grief and loss then it did with dealing with bratty kids

Michael was extremely smart. when Sean was in time out Michael knew exactly what was going to go down there. he knew his brother would not be out of time out until he apologized properly. I think the way Supernanny handled Sean reminded Michael of how his mother used to handle him and his brothers when they misbehaved. It is obvious the mother was the one who enforced the rules.

This is by far my favourite episode. What an absolutely beautiful family. Dad is doing such an amazing job and being brave enough to say he has no idea what he’s doing is beyond admirable. “They don’t deserve this.” I completely understand how Gary felt, my nanny Smith (on my dad’s side) passed away two years ago after falling out of her bed at the care home she was living at. She was the only grandparent my dad had left after grandad Jock passed 21 years before I was born. She was 98 years old she was.

I understand the full-time mom and dad works full-time, but I'm curious as to how he was so disconnected when it came to child rearing. He essentially didn't know how to do anything, including potty training.

Someone had to pay for that big house. He said he was always at work. Then said he had to quit his job because he couldn’t handle the kids and his work so I’m guessing whatever he did kept him out of the house most of the time. I wouldn't necessarily call these boys real brats. they lost their mother and were too young to understand it. my heart goes out to that father. I am really proud of him. in spite of the grief he is dealing with over the loss of his wife he is an excellent father and so attentive and loving to his boys. I think the mother is smiling down at him from heaven.

Oh I really feel sorry for the dad. My uncle passed away because of lung embolia two years ago at the age of 53. I can feel his pain. Though my uncle did not have kids my mom was very sad and angry at my aunt (which is no longer part of the family due to family issues).

my father died when I was 4 turning 5 two months after he died. I do not have any memories at all. The older boy who was under the bed, trying to get some alone time, when he said "she died" about his Mom...and "the end of the world" comment...so sad! The poor child! The meltdown that Michael had, I think was about missing his Mom, so sad!
