Did you see that this episode was directed by Richard Speight jr. who played Gabriel? I think he did a fabulous job. Also, since you know Torchwood, didn't you think that the "I love you - I love all of you" moment really paralleled when Jack came back at the start of series 2, when he said "I came back for you - For all of you"? Because that was all I could think about when that happened.

FYI this episode was largely a homage to Quentin Tarantino's work. The slow-mo scene of the Winchesters, Cas, and Wally walking together, the opening scene with them sitting around a table talking, and the episode's non-linear structure are based on aspects of Tarantino's style. Even the episode's title was that of a song played during a memorable scene of one of Tarantino's films, Reservoir Dogs.

It was a "blink and you'll miss it" moment, but along with all the other awesome scenes in this episode, I really loved the part in the end scene (wasn't shown in your vid here) where Mary says "I lost a friend, I almost lost one of my boys!" Now, who came the closest to actually dying in this episode? I mean, it was touch and go for a while, and pretty much everyone's life was in danger at one point or another, but hands down, Cas was the one on death's door. Which means, Mary just called him "one of her boys." She's officially adopted Cas! (Doesn't hurt that he killed a Reaper for her.)

This was honestly one of my favorite episodes. I kinda dislike Mary now as her actions nearly got Castiel killed. However, when I saw the colt I got so excited as it hasn't been seen since Abandon All Hope in season 5 (even though we saw it in Frontierland in season 6 when they time traveled). I hope Sam and Dean will get it soon from the men of letters. Anyway, this was definelty one of my all time favorites and one of the highlights was seeing Mark Pellegrino as Lucifer again. 😃😃😃😃😃

I'm starting to wonder if Crowley has feelings for Castiel. The two got pretty chummy during their hunt for Lucifer and Crowley even stayed behind to help Cas fight Lucifer off in "Rock never DIes". And now Crowley has saved Cas from death. My shipping brain never stops! PS- was getting pretty tired of Lucifer but I am so glad Mark Pellegrino is back!! :) :)

Yes I think he wants to get close to Team Free Will, especially Castiel. I guess they have a lot in common despise what they may think. I love their chemistry together, I laughed a lot seeing them work as partners (Agent Beyoncé et Jay Z) and I hope we'll see more of them interacting soon :D

SO much in this episode. I get why people get upset that angels aren't what they were in season 4, but honestly, the only way they will EVER get close to that again is when the writers decide to remove them from the show. We often forget, angels were supposed to be a 1-2 season arc. Period. They were a plot device, overpowered to deal with a really powerful threat. Castiel was supposed to only be on for THREE EPISODES. In that scenario, they could be awe inspiring 'fix everything with a blink' kind of beings. The kind that demons trembled and could literally smite anything up to the highest ranks of themselves, God, Amara, Leviathan (interestingly, makes angels like walking Colts.) But you can't have 'the Colt' as a character that regularly interacts with the Winchesters and comes when they call. That eliminates almost all threats, no more just plain monster hunts if Cas can just walk in and fix everything. So, the price we paid for having an angel as a character is getting angels somewhat depowered. Irritating at times, but a price I'm willing to pay. Now to Mary. I think she's just doing a Winchester. Doing something stupid thinking it'll fix things and not telling everyone, leaving everyone to try and catch up AND fix it when it all goes to hell. I think she bought the MoL pitch that their help and methods could eliminate monsters in the US like they supposedly did in the UK. And given she doesn't want to be a hunter, she doesn't want her children to be hunters, this may seem a solution. After all, she starts listening to the deal just about the time they're finding Nephilim, dealing with Reapers, and 'cosmic consequences'. Of course, given that the MoL couldn't even get good enough intel to know she was walking into a prince of Hell's lair, had no idea about them dealing with Lucifer, I'm pretty sure the threats the Winchesters think of as 'Oh, Prince of Hell, it must be Tuesday' is beyond anything the BMoL had to get rid of in England. So, I'm doubtful they are going to be as much help as she thinks. And more importantly, can't, themselves, be trusted. I mean, really, HOW do you monster-free a whole country? What prevents demons from being a problem? You can't ward air and sea ports and demon proof your country, they don't ride coach. So, either they are lying, they are msinformed by their higher ups, or perhaps their 'Old Men' either have a deal with, or even ARE something scary enough to keep everything else out of their country. And she just gave them the Colt....

Honestly, I've been working on the theory that the 'Old Men' (Toni's term) either have a deal with, or ARE some kind of major occult or supernatural power and using the MoL to eliminate any competition, and/or to gain access to mundane power, since the BMoL seem to be tied into their country's hierarchy. AND, being somehow connected to Dagon would explain their demon-less state. After all, you can't ward an entire country against Demons. Unlike other monsters, just watching sea and airports aren't going to keep them out, they just pop in wherever they want to be. Interesting theory, may not be true, but also may not be as crackpot as thought.

Yeah, but then again the MoL did have a device that could exorcise Lucifer himself from a willing host, and it was small as well. Maybe they have something similar but on a larger scale in Britain. So it might also not be so strange that they have Britain "Monster Free." Hopefully they'll reveal more about the situation in Britain in future episodes.

Maybe I'm being overly optimistic, but the reason that Mary thought the Colt was worth it (even at the possible cost) was because the Men of Letters can replicate the Colt. No longer will Hunters have to figure out what they're dealing with and know the right way to kill it. No longer will Hunters have to get up close and personal with a Vampire to cut off it's head. Now any monster, any demon, and thing with fang and claw can be easily killed with one shot.

This episode was absolutely INCREDIBLE!! Without a doubt one of the best in the entire series!! (But nothing, NOTHING beats "Don't call me Shurley". The acting was top notch and Mary's willingness to sacrifice her sons + Castiel pissed me ROYALLY off but still, strike 1 of 3. The ending that disclosed Mark as being Lucifer again - your reaction was the same as the entire fandom!

Yo so i have two questions. 1: Why didnt the devils trap bullets work? They worked on abbdon. Are princes of Hell completely immune to devils traps then? 2: Crowley knew Ramiel had a huge collection of powerful Arcane weapons. Why didnt he take them after he died?

Abadon was a knight of hell, not a prince. I'm pretty sure the Luci turned Lillith, then the Princes, and then the Knights (so he might have been trying to level them strategically.)

You're right. Still i think it's weird how a knight of hell is completely pinned down by a devils trap,but it doesn't affect a prince of hell at all. It should at least make it harder for him to move... Also i think it's pretty weird how easily Ramiel was defeated considering that he's a prince of hell and also concidering how hard it was to take down Azazel. Also, aren't there still some bullets left in the Colt? In the moments where it really looked like Sam and Dean were about to be killed, I would have really expected Mary to use the Colt on Ramiel. After all, her sons should mean way more for her than her alliance with the men of letters...

This episode is an homage to Quentin Tarantino's film Reservoir Dogs which is a pretty famous movie, the slow motion walking scene is iconic from that film but it seems you didn't recognize the reference. one last thing I want to say: Lucifer doesn´t have his old vessel back. He is portrayed by Mark P. every time he doesn´t have a vessel. Since he is in the cage, he doesn´t have one atm. Mark basically portrays his soul (? idk if you call it soul when it is the devil) cause Lucifer is an angel and we can´t see him in his natural form because it´s not possible for humans to see an angel, they show him as Mark, because it would be kind of confusing for us to see him as Misha or Jared.

Torchwood Boy And though it's less bad with Crowley, he used to be the demon that if you pissed off, actually signed your death warrant. I know, the trials and his blood addiction, but it seems that season 9 main use was to bring down our favorite non-human asskickers. I think it's just lazy writing to ruin badass characters to create anxiety in the viewers, just terrible.

For some reason you seem to be under the impression that giving him the thing she stole would've fixed everything? Why? Cas would be dead, he most likely would've killed them anyway. Also, once Dean and Sam found out what it was she stole, they would've never let her give it back.
