Too clarify, Mick (Mark Pellegrino) did have to say yes. Lucifer tricked him by tormenting him with visions of his murdered wife and infant, and promising him vengeance against God. Also, yes, an archangel blade would kill Lucifer. The one Supernatural weapon he is invulnerable against, however, is the colt.

You know, I haven't been a huge fan of Rick Springfield's Lucifer up until This episode. The monologue at the end kind of makes the lackluster portrayal make sense, instead of the previous Lucifers who have all had a significant end goal in mind and a definitive motive to keep them going, we now have a Lucifer who feel completley broken and left behind. He doesn't have the same energy and doesn't delight in his actions because he no longer believes in what he's doing. In hindsight, I actually think his portrayal makes a lot of sense with the character's development for this season

Gotta say I agree with the lack of energy on behalf of Rick's Lucifer, but I think its somewhat of a smart move in terms of plot? In that speech we heard that Lucifer's got no real plan and its kinda obvious he is struggling with his Dad's disappearance so maybe his frustration and his abandonment has left him somewhat boneless and basically depressed? Idk just speculating. However I really miss Mark, Misha and Jared's Lucifer too. Such a fun psycho...

Here's a question I have about the whole Rick Springfield casting: Why cast Rick Springfield? I thought they said at SDCC that they wanted an actor who could play an insturment, ie, a musician. Yet, as Lucifer, he never played a song, never even sang. Why pay the kinda dough you would have to pay a person like a Rick Springfield, if you were not gonna have him do something musical during his time on the show?

One thing i really hope comes out of this episode, is the potential return of Sam's demon powers. First of all he was able to keep those doors open, and if the force Lucifer was putting on them was resistible by "normal" Sam, then why couldn't he just let the other people push the doors open. And then at the end. His look, and general despair, of not winning. I feel like if he had the chance to fully regain his powers, he would go for it at this point, as he's gotten so desperate.

Mark Pellegrino is the best Lucifer they had, Misha did a good second, then Jared. I don't think Rick did as good a job as they did, but he definitely tried.

Thought Springfield was fine. Not great, but brought some menace that I thought Cas's Lucifer lacked. He had been made a bit of a joke last season so I'm glad he seems to at least be more dangerous again. Only real problem was he didn't have enough Pellegrino mannerisms that Misha captured last season.

gabriel mentioned that his own blade could kill him once,and if i remember correctly lucifer used his own blade to kill gabriel. so i think an archangel's blade is needed to kill an archangel. Also a lance that was designed to kill lucifer would probably work too.

Actually, Rick Springfield is an actor appearing in several shows in the late 70's, 80's, and 90's including a much-loved run on General Hospital and the first run of Human Target for ABC in 1992, which is the same character from Arrow. In the last few years, he appeared in True Detective and the film Ricki and the Flash with Meryl Streep. At the end of the day, I'm pretty sure he was playing the role the way he was told to play it. After all, this is a new showrunner running things from when Mark played Lucifer

The Archangel blade is not the one with the three dots on it. That would be the Angel Sword. From the Supernatural Wiki: An angel sword is a variation of the angel blade. It was the preferred weapon of the Grigori -- some of the first angels that walked the Earth. I think the only difference between a regular angel-blade and an archangel-blade is the archangels is a bit longer.

I have actually been enjoying this season a lot. The thing I like the most is how comfortable the characters are with each other. I feel there is finally a sense that everyone understands and accepts each other completely at this point.

Lucifer never came to Nick (Mark Pellegrino) with black smoke. He tricked him the same way he tricked Vince Vincente, by impersonating his dead wife. He also confirmed to Sam that as an angel, he needed the vessel's permission to possess them. The scene with the black smoke you were talking about, Eric, was in the season 3 premiere. That black smoke was demons freshly freed from hell at the end of season 2, and that guy from that scene was possessed by one of the 7 deadly sins😊 Also, the actor playing Castiel is named Misha Collins 😉

Rick did fine but TBH I'm glad he is gone. Also Castiel was in Claire (James Novak daughter) in season 4. Supernatural season 12 has been decent, mostly cause how do you top season 11. Unless the writers make God and The Darkness have a father and mother but that would make no since but yeah this season has been off. I thought Rick did fine as Lucifer even though Misha's Cas/Lucy was the best thing ever! it was a clear portrayal of Mark P.'s Lucifer in Cas's body. Question is just because Rick didn't have the same vibe does that really make him a bad Lucifer? You could say the same thing about Jared as Lucifer in the earlier seasons. He just played him as a bad guy with none of Mark's pizazz. And Sam is supposed to be Lucifer's true vessel. do you think Jared could pull it off now?

I hate to say it, but I do not think that Mark Pellegrino will be back as Lucifer's human vessel, as Nick was left dead at the end of season 5 because his body couldn't handle Lucifers power. Only a Winchester can. Meaning Mary couldn't hold him either, as she is not biologically related to John.

I actually prefer this version of Lucifer. For me, Pellegrino's interpretation was so over the top that it was silly. It always bothered me when Lucifer showed up. Until now, he's was one of my least favorite characters. I honestly just prefer characters like Lucifer (ultimate evil types) to be played straight. When they're not, it's not entertaining for me.

I definitely agree that Rick Springfield's performance as Lucifer was lacking. But, I think that this episode also made it clear that Lucifer as a character simply doesn't have the same energy/power as he previously did. The acting wasn't the only thing that felt off.

I agree with you, Eric. I never liked his performance. For me I found that they went backwards with the Lucifer arc. I felt it came full circle with God apologising. So I don't like that storyline for this season. So far I've not enjoyed it anywhere near season 11.

This episode is making me reconsider whether i still want to watch Supernatural. There was no story development, no set-ups for a story to be told, the acting was weak and the interactions between the brothers were repetitive and unfunny. Lucifer should have either died against Amara or turned good after he made up with god, because right now he's a walking parody of a teenager. And the problem is, he's no longer threatening, not after the Darkness, deep down you know God or Amara can pop out in a flash and end the Devil's existance. What's the point ? where is the show heading ? do they even know where they're taking this story ? i honestly doubt it.
