I SWEAR. When you take into consideration that Dean left that fake life behind FOR SAM because he couldn't let his real little brother live alone in their shitty reality, that last look he gives Sam in this clip is devastating. "It's not fair and y'know it hurts like hell but it's worth it."

Well, that's true, he didn't want to live in a lie, I don't think he would've left if it weren't for Sam. If Sam wasn't around, I'm pretty sure Dean would've stayed.

When you take in consideration that Dean also dug himself out from every AU or a chance of better life for Sam. And the only time he wanted to stay was in "French mistake" because Sam was with him. For Sam to be happy he wanted to leave everyone he knew, Bobby, Cas, Lisa who was still with him at the time. The only thing that stopped him is Sam because they weren't close to each other in that AU. Even Sam sacrificied everything to be close to Dean.

I cried when Dean's fake loved ones were talking to him about the good life he could have and not suffer anymore, and Dean getting teary eyed because he knew he couldn't stay :(

Jensen's acting is phenomenal in this episode. Stirred something really deep within for me. Still holding back his tears when he's with sam. Only cries it out when he's alone when he was talking to his dad's grave.

Yes he's so good in this episode crying at John's grave & the look he gives Mary just shows all the Love he missed out on by her dying so young ! One of the most tortured characters in all of TV & Jensen played Dean with all he had too give ! Best actor ever ! ❤ Love ya both so Much ! 😘 Linda Lou

I grew up watching these two from the first seasons all the way down to the point i had to deal with my own demons, but i always come back to this scene just to motivate me to accept the fact that even if life isnt always fair, doing the right thing... helps you sleep at night.. maybe just a little bit. But i thank these two and the cast and crew for making Supernatural possible in this lifetime, thank you.

Just this ending scene, with the music makes me cry. I wonder what it'd be like to wish my mom back and would I have the strength to leave tharmt world. All things in life happen for a reason, wishing for a life you know doesn't exist is asking for trouble. if my mom could be with me again and I be married happily to my Liz I wouldn't want to leave either but this episode shows that living a fantasy has its consequences.

This absolutely gutted me, My family was doing well, siblings in college, one in a serious relationship, house, home, cars, dear friends.....and then...one accident changed all that.....our lives have changed dramatically, some of our old friends...we don't see them much more, we moved, and moved and moved, the serious relationship didn't workout, college never worked out for anyone. We're better now, we are getting back. Its almost been 10 years since then, and I work a dangerous job that requires lots of travel that will pay off one day but.....oh...the pain and the dreams of before and what could have been...

Dean left the fantasy world because they werent as close as they is in this world. And also because he knew that Sam was waiting, all alone, in this world. Hed rather live this crappy hunting life with his lovely little brother than living a lie and not even be friends with Sam.. Its so strange to think that this is only season two! Already back then theyve lost so much and now, 12 years later, theyve lost so much more. I really hope that this show ends happy... That they can have a mix life with hunting and girlfriends and each other and Just.. Be happy.

Not gonna lie this hits different as an adult i'm always feeling like i'm put in an unfair standard that I always gotta play the hero and all I want to do is focus on my dreams but im conatantly having to make sacrifices and not really get rewarded for them all I ever had to show was things that I earn with effort or things that fell into my lap cuz of luck but I really haven't been rewarded for good deeds or sacrifices that I made so this video hits different when he says IK but I wanted to stay I wanted to stay so bad because that's how I feel.

Coral Roper Agreed! I think it's because they wanted to push him to the edge to really drive home Dean's desperation in the finale when he sells his soul. I mean, he came out of the dream world for Sam more than anything, only to watch him die shortly after. He sacrificed so much just to have everything taken away. They really played at Sam essentially being Dean's lifeline.

It’s even sadder watching this now knowing it’s the episode right before Sam gets killed and Dean sells his soul to bring him back. You can see Dean wondering “is it all worth it, is it worth all the loss” and then soon enough he’s ready to let he world end & die himself cause Sam is dead

Like if they ever show the boys in normals lives on the show, they nedd to have Thomas (Jared's son) to be Sam's kid on the show because who else would they pick. And they need to bring Gen back :)

This is one of my all time fave episodes ❤ Jensen should have won an Emmy for his powerful performance! Wanting your Loved ones back is such a hard thing too deal with !
