It could be entirely possible that when Cas hit Mike with the Holy Fire and it tore up his body that Adam was sent to Heaven (similar to when Jimmy Novak was sent to Heaven when Lucifer annihilated him) but Cas keeps using the body. It is possible that Adam isn't even in the cage but we may not even know it. Heck even Hallucifer (if he was actually real or not, we will never know) said that Sam was all he had. All I've heard recently is how Michael is still in the cage (which he will get out of. Guarantee it. Maybe even with Alternate Mike's help?) But nothing is said about Adam. I think they have something going with Adam right now long term but we won't see him for a while.

Riven Lore Michael did protect Adam in cage , unlike Lucifer who torture Sam. Yeah after seeing season 15, Dean made the right call in season 6 Sam’s soul was in the most danger. Honestly Chuck could have freed Michael anytime but didn’t.

It's Oh My Chuck bro.... Yeah, Eric Kripke who created the show and ran the writers room left after Swan Song because he said he meant that to be the ending and if he stuck around it would just stop eveyone else from doing their own thing. Got to say really wished he had stuck around, there were a lot of great episodes in the other seasons but no great seasons. Oh, and yes Chuck is God, Eric Kripke stated in an interview for the finale that he would reveal who God was before the episode was over.

Even up until this current run they have yet to confirm or deny whether Chuck is God. What we do know is that there can only be one Prophet of the Lord at a time and we have a later one from here. It is assumed that Chuck is dead then, but... we do see him again. The word is that he's going to be in the May 4th episode... Also, yes, this was the end of showrunner Eric Kripke's original story ark. After this it gets worse, then better, then worse then great. Just hang in there!
