Q: The outtake is way funnier! Why they didn't keep the outtake version in the final release?
A: Since Leviathans stole Sam and Dean's identity and were posing as them, they had to lay low and leave the Impala behind and Dean wasn't happy about that. That’s why he couldn’t act super happy and cheerful like nothing has happened.
EDIT: I’ve been always amazed that how popular this video of mine got and kept wondering if it’s ever gonna hit 1M views one day. Well it just happened and It’s ironic that it finally reached 1M just as the show’s finale aired. Supernatural will always have a special place in my heart. Thanks SPN cast and crew for 15 years of greatness and thank you all for the support. #SPNFamilyForever

Lets face it: Jensen didn't do that just for fun, the nicest outtakes seem to be born when one of them tries to make the other one fall out of character and THAT point went to Jared who might have told himself all the time "Stay strong, stay Sam." AND he did it until the bitter end :) Nice try Jensen :)

I just realised, this scene is actually a reference to the famous film Mr & Mrs Smith. There's a similar singing scene in the movie and Sam and Dean just got their fake IDs named Mr & Mr Smith. Mr & Mrs Smith are serial killers(assasins) in the movie and here in this episode, leviathan Sam and Dean are on a murder spree aka serial killers. Wow.
