This episode is such an eye opener and changes how you viewed the previous episodes. See before fans didn't really have a problem with Sam's new powers because we didn't know he'd been drinking demon blood to get them, this also explains his attitude change when he started drinking again. Also this was perfectly foreshadowed remember episode 4 with the Raugo, that was the episode Sam decided to stop using his powers, it hits much harder when you realize he and the Raugo were the same, they had an addiction, during the episode Sam even suggested that the guy just give up meat, keep him away from the thing that made him a monster, but you see how hypocritical it was for him to say that, Sam only gets his powers when he drinks demon blood so he can choose to keep himself away from it

"On the head of a pin" comes from an old metaphor, "How many angels can dance on the head of a pin?" It means wasting time debating on a topic of no practical value. So the title pertains to Alistair's comment of why would Lilith kill only 7 angels when she could kill 100 or more? I loved this episode!!!!!!! Season 4 is amazing!! Loved this episode! The guy that plays Alastair in this episode also was a lead Vampire in Twilight from the Volturi and was Zor-El on Smallville. Jensen did an amazing job during the torture scene with Alastair. The pain Dean experienced in hell was horrendous so we got to see Dean in his true element. A side we hadn’t really seen before! The hospital scene was also very emotional 😭 to watch. Castiel watching over him as always. The line he says “the righteous man who began it will be the one to finish it,” always gets me! That crack that Alistair made to Dean about disappointing his father is the worst thing he could have said to him..... Dean lived for 2 things: Protecting Sam and making his father proud

One of my absolute favorite episodes, oh the pain. Jensen and Christopher (Alistair) did a fantastic job, that had me at the edge of my seat. The pain in Deans face when he realizes what he is being told, ouch. Yes Alistairs voice was irritating, but fantastic for making him more demony for me.

Personally, I loved Alastair as a character, and I didn't mind his voice at all. But I would probably hate it in real life. Sam and the demon blood. It was so polarizing for the fandom.

Yes let's goooo... It was so epic watching dean torture Alistair but also emotional because he for sure was different after that but damn is dean so freaking hottttttt. Also shout out to sam even though how he gets his magic juice is wrong he's still a badass!!! Love cas, he has a pure soul even though he's an angel. And Uriel... Glad he's gone. Always disliked him.
