Rating - 10/10!! - such a great episode!! Thoroughly enjoyable & such a wild ride to watch. I cant help but think about what it was like on the set that episode haha. Must have been a right laugh. I'm sure Jared loved having gen back on set too. The whole concept of this ep was brilliantly thought out & well executed, I can totally see why this one is so very loved by the fandom. The way this show makes fun of themselves is ace, it reminds me not to take myself too seriously.

Ironically my favorite thing about this episode is all the things about the producers and the writers lol. Eric Kripke who keeps walking towards "the stunt guy" while he's getting shot and the Bobby Singer/Robert Singer thing lmao. The stunt coordinator who avoids the bullets because he's that good. Not to mention the Sera Gamble thing. I love it!

I don't think I've seen another show with as creative episodes as supernatural. Misha is so handsome he might be a legitimate angel.

This episode is a favourite. And yes, they loved it! There are interviews where they talk about it and they always say that they loved it. The funny part is that some of the things about like Misha and Gen were real, but they exaggerated things and made them very cliché as well. And those Tweets Misha did, he actually Tweeted them which just makes it 100000x better! And the whole thing with J2 apparently not speaking and all that was a dig at other shows where the actors don't get along and the fact that with J2 it is completely opposite that. I loved the whole thing with Kripke and Singer not really caring all that much that Misha had been murdered and talking about the publicity it got them but adding these little things to try and make them not seem like monsters! I think that might've been something about how he was newer to the cast and not as "important" as J2/Sam and Dean because the show could still kinda work without him even though the fans would riot... The actors love to make fun of themselves, and the crew all love to make fun of the show too. I mean, they all made it seem like the cast were stuck up divas and like the show isn't very good and all that. So yeah, they love to make fun of themselves... The whole thing with Dean being like "You married fake Ruby?!" will always be one of my favourite parts of the whole show!

Also, much like with the episode "Hollywood Babylon", they took every opportunity they could to take shots at the Hollywood and TV production industries in general. Also, in some of the con vidoes, Jared and Jensen mention that when this one was being written, they were approached about it, and were asked about "playing themselves" and they were both a bit uncomfortable with playing straight-up versions of themselves, so they asked 1) to be playing their characters attempting to pass off as themselves, and 2) that even the "thems" from that world were a bit different than they in real life were. (Hence, the mansion and super expensive, extravagant stuff ect.) Also, I'd heard that when they were striking set after filming this one, Jared made off with that huge cowboy picture of himself and it's in his office at his home now. *LOL*

@@Divhreaza Yeah, I've heard all that. They were against playing themselves, and I get why. I don't think I'd be too comfortable with it either. I mean, they talk about their personal lives at cons and they post pics and videos of their families, but that's a lot different to having someone writing lines for you to say as you, and it just seems weird. Plus, the whole thing with making th versions of themselves different probably made them feel a bit more comfortable with things because of similar reasons. :)

yep it was so great hearing about that after, that the fans were "what is he doing lol". Plus he wanted to play a real douche character and they didn't want him to, so he improved a bunch of stuff during the show like pushing away the makeup lady, etc

Plot twist Jared was married to "Ruby" in this episode, and is ALSO his wife in real life aswell. they actually met on the set in season 4 and became a couple and ended up getting married in real life. love how the put that in this episode

This episode was so _funny_ but I needed to watch it again because I didn't really know anything about Jared and Jensen when I was binge watching. I was actually worried that they didn't like each other! This really is a great episode and definitely one of the funniest (changing channels is my fave funny episode) and your reaction was really fun to watch. @DakaraJayne ~This episode's title was inspired by the 1974 western comedy Blazing Saddles. Near the end, the good guys vs. bad guys fight spills out of their movie onto other film sets and a massive brawl ensues all across the Warner Brothes film lot. The top bad guy (Hedley Lamar) leaves to go to a movie theatre. . . . which is showing Blazing Saddles. Hows that for meta?

Yeah, this is definitely a fan-favorite episode, and one of the most creative. (Which is REALLY saying something for this show!) Though, don't worry. There are still more odd and "interesting" episodes left to see. :) Also, if you're a bit puzzled about the episode title, it's a reference to an old Mel Brooks movie called "Blazing Saddles", that was a western, but at one point near the end, the cast accidentally fell through the set of their movie into a different movie supposedly being filmed at the same studio. (As in, that was part of the plot of the movie. It was Mel Brooks after all.) And that other movie they fell into was called "The French Mistake". I'm really glad you enjoyed this one, and it's always a fun one to go back and visit when you just need something to relax to and laugh about.

one of Eric Kripke 's proudest moments when he got slow-mo death on his own show, he went like a badass lol also, a lot of stuff in the episode hints at how people of this industry like stars and producers really behave and how they treat each other.

An actor played Kripke, Kripke wasn't really involved much past season 5, which was supposed to be his series finale season. But they later reworked Sam coming back. Otherwise this would've been a five season series ending with Sam in hell, Dean married with a kid. The end.

I love that the picture of Sam riding the horse from Frontierland, which hadn't aired yet, was behind Sam in Jared's house as he sat at that desk. Sera still paid lots of attention to detail when she was running the show in season 6 much like Kripke did the first 5 seasons. Too bad it didn't continue the following season after she left. She was way better at running the show than Dabb ever was. Dabb wrote some good episodes under Kripke & Sera, but has no business running this series or writing any episodes without strict supervision.

It's about 4,20 minutes long and it's spoiler free. During the ''acting'' , when you see Castiel's back, it's actually his stunt-double, because Misha was in his trailer (Jensen's words, not mine). The photo of JG wedding on the mantle is the real/official photo. And for the trailer: apperently the one used for this episode was larger and had better forniture so Jensen asked to keep it and is his trailer ever since. Cheers from Italy.

I was very confused by the gunshop scene, because I didnt think vancouver could have any american style gunshops; that only huge places like canadian tire or hardware shops would have gun departments. Season 6 as a whole was a mess, the plot was terrible. But it is the season with more WTF moments and meta episodes of the whole series. So individually the episodes are quite enterteining.
