Supernatural, she's a good actress that's for sure. This really shows her skills, but in arrow I feel that the scripts hold back her skills.

you are so right!. I was starting to wonder if she truly was a bad actress while I was watching arrow, to the point where me and my friends were practically hoping that it was her in the coffin (and were very happy when that proved right).But I kinda went quiet when she appeared as the Siren on the flash, I thought she was really really good. It was a little later when I found out she appeared in supernatural (and soo forgot that she did! was a big fan of this show for first 5 seasons and was soo annoyed when she was replayed with that other lady). This scene alone shows that she is a good actress but it also points more towards a theory that I had. That she is much better at playing a villain (or in this case a morally ambiguous character). I felt like the actress was out of her element as the heroic, goody too shoes on arrow, she was way over the top and melodramatic.

@Nolan Palmer it's not that she's better at playing villains or morally ambiguous characters in my opinion. I, personally, really thought her drug addiction/alcoholism arc was really well acted. I have loved ones that went through what her character did in Season 2 and I can honestly say, it was really harrowing to see mental illness portrayed so raw on screen. The problem is, freaking Marc Guggenheim and Wendy Mericle don't know how to write the Black Canary. Black Canary, in the comics, is a character who has both a heroic side to her as well as a rebellious/sassy edge. If you combine Earth-1 Laurel's compassion with Earth-2 Laurel's (Black Siren) sassy/rebellious edge, you actually have a really accurate Black Canary. The problem is, the producers on Arrow pander to a bunch of teenagers and make everything about some poorly written knockoff of Chloe from Smallville.

I agree. I think everything on Supernatural favored her - the script, the directing, the hair and makeup. Laurel is just... meh, and it's not the actress' fault, that's just the way the character's written. And tbh, Supernatural beats Arrow any way of the week.

If only the Winchesters were a little bit open-minded back then, they befriended king of hell later but gave ruby a hard time. If they accepted Ruby, they would have sought for ways to revert her back to human again . They would have found human blood injection method way earlier and turn her back into a human again, like they did with crowley and deamon.

I love this version of Ruby, and missed her so much 😭😭😭 Gen was pretty and delivered her own version of Ruby (and there might be change on the script of this character's purpose in S4) and it's good, but I'd definitely grow to love Ruby through Katie's over the second one.. (don't get me wrong because I like Gen too she's a good actress, only that I preferred the Katie's version of the role 😊)

Back when the show aired her character wasn’t as well liked as it is now so they told Katie that they were cutting her pay way down. When she got mad (as one would) they offered to let her out of her contract and so she left. I read that on a different video but I think it’s true.
