This episode is one of my favorites because it really shows how strong and resilient Sam is, how determined he was to live and keep going. If there hadn’t been a promise of four more seasons I would have assumed he’d definitely have died for good.

I got such a kick out of watching your reaction to this episode. You were really feelin' it and I totally get it. This episode is very intense. And kudos to Sam for killing two werewolves while grievously wounded and basically saving himself. He's a total badass in this episode. Meanwhile, Poor Dean had to deal with the most incompetent deputy in the western hemisphere.

DEAN WINCHESTER!! Those drugs probably caused ulcers in your stomach and proliferation of your upper GI tract in addition to SHUTTING DOWN your central nervous system!! You can’t just will yourself back to life!😂 And yet he does. Cause he found out Sam was still alive and he made a promise.

Way back at episode one of this season, I mentioned that although 11 is my very favorite season there are two things that really lean on a nerve, and I wouldn't tell what they are until they happen, well, one of them is this episode's structure. Not the content... they order they show the story. The method of story telling that starts with some big drama and then spends the rest of the episode playing catch up to that point.. bouncing from 1 point in time to another - (almost 3 time lines going at the same time but not in order) makes me crazy! I hate it so much. It's schizophrenic. Also, we end up seeing the same scene (or really close to it) a second time.. just a waste of air when I'm sure that something ended up on the editing room floor that we'd want to see. grrrr SPN does it more than once but in this episode..stand out wrong - just nope - sitting here shaking my head. That said.. Except for that, I agree with you - it was all there. Both of them escaped death by the skins of their teeth - in one episode! It's like the monster of the week years.. edge of your seat stuff. I really like Billie in this episode too.. she did not play - interesting for a reaper. Could be because of the singing when we first met her though. I just like the character.
