Great eye Marco...yes it's the same location they filmed Grave Encounters at. When Sam & Dean fight each other (possessed or not), the emotions are definitely strong. The next episode Is a doozy. You're gonna like it a lot.

Re. the control thing: Sam learns. Boy does he ever! See the thing about Sam is that he's only 21 - 22yrs at the time that all this heavy stuff is laid on him. All the harsh critics of Sam tend to overlook that in their love/favor of Dean. Think of what _WE_ were doing at that age and how many mature decisions we made at that age? However, when Sam grows to about what age Dean is at this particular point (26-27yrs) you get to know just how much control he has. I *adore* Dean. But I adore Sam *exactly* the same. I actually think that the most interesting and important thing to take away from this episode is the feelings Sam expresses when "helped" to get in contact with his anger - that he finds Dean pathetic because he simply follows orders, unlike Sam who questions everything, and basically just wants to say "f you dad, I don't care where YOU want us to be, we WILL find you, whether or not you want us to". He thinks that that means he "has a mind of his own", and he thinks that Dean following orders proves that his older brother obviously doesn't, which makes him weak. Of course, Sam doesn't ACTUALLY want to kill his brother, because he DOES love him, but... the anger and resentment, and his feeling of mental superiority, is sadly not a made up thing, which you could clearly see that Dean knew all too well. Kind of breaks my heart.

Yes, I definitely agree. Sam thinks he's smarter, more independent and superior to Dean in every way. It comes out every time something or someone messes with his inhibitions. It's also shown by the little things - like when he mocks Dean's handmade EMF meter (when it's actually really impressive that Dean was able to build something like that on his own). Sam also seems to focus on what he wants a little too much at times. What he considers to be a weakness, that is Dean not letting his own selfish needs get in the way of helping other people, is actually one of Dean's biggest strengths. I can't tell you how many times I got really upset with Sam as the seasons went by and thought: Sam, for crying out loud, stop acting like a whiny, entitled brat and stop thinking that Dean is just a stupid, mindless soldier, and that you're oh so much better. He didn't go to Stanford like you, but he's intelligent, strong, determined, caring and selfless. You might want to learn something from him for a change.

Let me tell you as an atheist, even if Dean is not religious I can you view his loyalty to his Dad as akin to religion and irritates me. I don't think I'm smarter than religious people but I certainly can't understand people dependence on it and when I was watching this it's what remind me of Dean. It's not his fault but it did annoy me at times. Dean is not dumb but its frustrating and heartbreaking how he just turn into a loyal soldier when it comes to his Dad. I relate to Sam more even if I'm the eldest sibling lol.

+Jarta lol - I don't think that's a fair comparison, as religion to me is about worshipping an invisible being without any proof of it's existence, and following rules someone else claims was made by that invisible being, even if they were written by human beings that then claimed that invisible being supposedly spoke through them instead of just showing up and laying down the rules itself…. To me, Dean is just a kid who views his dad as a hero, and who grew up in a world where questioning and hesitating to carry out an order, might get people killed, so… he doesn't. I feel he quickly gets better about it though, and later on his first instinct is usually to question anyone trying to be an authority over him, and telling him what to do, so... I can't say that I recognize Dean in the way you describe him.

sarah4hp nah religion has priests, pastors, human leaders and more often than not they're the one the that sows blind faith and fanaticism claming to know what "God" wants. Even politics has this blind fanaticism that irritates me. I did say I can't say I blame Dean but it does not change the fact that this part of him frustrates me.

jarta lol - but ultimately it comes down to believing in things you can't see, simply because someone else says it is so, and someone wrote something thousands of years ago. That is never Dean. He simply follows orders because he has learned that NOT doing so might get someone killed. For Dean that is simply a fact of life. And I think he basically changes his approach to his dad pretty early on, so it's not like that is who he is for the entire run of the show, so... yeah, I simply don't agree with your view on him at all, and I never will. For me Sam is way more frustrating and anger inducing because he can be very self absorbed, overly confident in his own understanding of things, and selfish at times, and he believes himself above his brother when that is SO not the case - unless we are talking about who is the tallest of course, in which case he is litterally above his brother, lmao. So to me, Dean is way more likable and relatable a lot of the time, even if I love both brothers a lot, and always will.

I love this drama so well, I have been watching supernatural from my university till now like 10 years, hell of long, now it continues to season 14, watching this like a daily habit now. abt dean being shot, it didn't have to do with the ghost, it was his actual feelings towards dean surfacing. & if you pay close attention on how he overal treats dean from get go, & always, it shows that's how he really feels. not gonna say anything else cause spoilers for the upcoming seasons. the only thing gonna say, because exists from get go, & it's not easy to recognise, the description of said behavior is, emotional abuse & manipulation, of dean, by his own brother.

This is a great show up until season 5 or 6. I recommend you stop watching at that point
