Supernote A6X2 Nomad: Unboxing and First Impressions

The Supernote A6X2, also known as the Supernote Nomad, has been eagerly awaited and it's now finally here. This 7.8-inch e-ink tablet is specifically designed for one purpose: note-taking. It differentiates itself from most other devices I've reviewed in the past by its singular focus on this task.

So right of the bat you can already see from the packaging, that this isn’t an ordinary tablet. The unique packaging is separating the different components of my order in three compartments and already offers a hint of Supernote's knack for finding unique solutions, an aspect that's also apparent in the design of the tablet’s hardware and software.

Dear Chalid, don't you think it is a little too small? When I see it in the videos, it seems there is not really a lot of space to write on, and the fonts and icons a tiny!

If you want bigger get the Supernote A5x, it has a 10.3” screen. Hopefully the A5x2 will be out soon.

Do you have the Lamy stylus with the POM nib, or the Staedler Noris digital with aftermarket titanium nibs? I'd be interested in how those hard nibs compare with the ceramic nib.

I have the Steadler Noris here, the Lamy pen is on the way and I also have titanium nibs here as well. I'll talk about the differences in the review and will let you know the gist of it when I had time using all three before in a comment here :)

Thanks for the video. Could you please check a quick thing for me? Is the display responsive to the pen on the very edges of the display. I mean is it responsive to the writing with the pen with light pressure? My Kindle Scribe as some issues on the right edge.

Yes, it's responsive on the edges of the display - responsiveness even goes outside of the edges by around 0.5 to 1 mm from a quick look of it. But I'd say the Kindle Scribe is generally a little more responsive to very light pressure. Not that the Supernote Nomad is bad, but you can notice a difference when looking for it.

Victor tries to check if you have the problem only when the kindle scribe is inside the cover... try removing it and checking

@@movethelimit thats a great advice and I appreciate your help. But that was tge first thing I tried. It is much better, but it the issue is still there. Already returned the 3rd party case and waiting for the genuine one from Amazon, but the Scribe has been without a case for over a week now and the problemnpersists

@@ChalidRaqami thanks. Scribe is responsive to very light touch, which is a great thing, but mine has problems recognising that touch on the right edge of the screen

No, not out of the box. There are only 2 Android apps available to install from the Supernote store, but no other option to easily install other apps right now.

They're coming out with a screen twice the size. This is A6 paper size, they're going to make one A5 paper size.

As A previous user of super note , this is by far the worst devise i used , at start the devise was good then in 3-4 months you will start having pen problems and you will need to buy another one and guess what its not at all cheap ( around $100 for a pen !! ) ... then after that you get screens getting unresponsive and you wont be able to wring on many sides of it , also reading is not so practical , you need to change everything zoom to be able to read ... as a user my advise to to steer away from it

The A6X2 hasn’t been around long, but other Supernote models have. I say thanks for the warning, @fadikheder852. I’ll do some more research into other long term reviews before I buy anything.
