Thank you for uploading this! It was nice to break out the DS Lite and cartridge again after so many years to test these glitches out. I was curious to see what the text box in Morton's Plains says, and it gives the message that is normally given after completing the Switch Palaces (without the block sprites): - Switch Palace - The power of the switch you pressed will turn into . After doing this, passing the Giant Gate to complete the level normally will cause Mario to keep his momentum in the air (even when passing it from right to left) and come to a dead stop when landing. The objects that turn into coins remain stationary and uncollectable, and nothing else occurs until the goal music ends, where the same message is displayed again with glitched Chargin' Chuck sprites taking the place of the blocks. Pressing "A" afterwards takes Mario back to the map, where yellow blocks begin flying out before the glitchy changes that are shown in this video occur. Perhaps Morton's Plains is attached to the nearby Yellow Switch Palace in some way?

6:35 Apparently this actually sorts itself out after 3 hours, and isn't really crashed. And like, I know what a crashed GBA game sounds like.

@broran: In this version of the game the orb glitch does not work, since mario no longer interact with object on Yoshi tongue, however nill sprite in Yoshi mouth still work, but only 2 ways the multiple Yoshi, because of block duplication(can only be done on the same tile the ? block is already on with the cap and screen scroll. or the freeze from getting a power-up. And also the double tongue glitch, however even thought does glitch work you can't do anything with the nill sprite in Yoshi mouth because the B button does not work while Yoshi as a nill sprite in his mouth.

@Fhat Video: That version of the game the orb glitch does not work, since mario can't interact with the coin on yoshi tongue, however the double tongue for a nill sprite on Yoshi mount does work, but the issue his you can't spit out the Nill sprite on that version this also eliminate the power-up incrementation glitch to get the orb

I tried the second map glitch and got send to a bonus game. I got 3 mystery not 1ups and it never exited, this along with the 0 clock made force a soft reset. neat!

Ah, you found that too I see lol. I found a minor glitch that allows you to make temporary vanishing blocks permanent after going through a warp pipe. I have been playing SMW for 30 years and I am still not bored of it.

If there was a way to use the map after 97exits and beat the test levels it would be possible to get a whole lot of exits, I have no knowledge on GBA version but if there is any way to get an orb all the test levels are possible 97th exits

Sadly as far as I know there is no way to get orb, or even item swap. Also I have gotten a null sprite in Yoshi's mouth in YI3, but it seems like they made it impossible to spit out a null sprite in this version :(

I remember the hours I used to spend trying to find item swap :P Closest I got was a null sprite on yoshi's tongue in YI3, but in this version you cant spit out null objects sadly

Unfortunately you can't, at least as far as I know.

I tried the slide trick out on Yoshi’s island 2, pressing Up + Select, and went to Iggy’s castle, and I got a pretty funny result

I remember a long time ago seeing a video of this glitch where the uploader was able to save the game and get it to say "World A" on the level select screen. I think that they used a different location, but it should work if you enter morton's plains and use the save and exit option Edit: Down+Select on Valley of Bowser 4, then choose Lemmy's Castle Here's the video I was thinking of kzbin.info/www/bejne/aKOui4uDerpgfsU Edit: Also, you can select button glitch other inputs than moving, such as pressing a on a Star Road, however this does not yield meaningful results

@@broran_ No problem. After seeing your video I noticed that there seems to be a pattern in Star World on accessing the test levels. The ones you showed all were accessed by pressing select on a proper level, and then teleporting to a Star Road . This got me to try and see if I could get to the other test levels, and found that if you press right and select on Star World 1, and warp to the first Star Road, you get the test level in the middle of the map. Still can't figure out how to get to the other three. I can sometimes land my character on them, but they just seem to teleport me when I press A Edit: Top one is press right and select on the second Star Road warp, then teleport to the first Star Road warp

You need to have all 96 exits to select levels! I beat the entire game in an emulator just to record this video actually.

Ah, i actually did the Intro glitch thanks to you! there seems to be a 2nd option that i cant select, any idea what that might be? Edit: im on Hardware, so i have no idea if it might work on Emulator.

I found a glitch that prevents my game from making the overworld map change color no matter how many times I use the second warp star point. Not sure if there is any way to reverse this or not. But if there is, I wouldn't know.
