Superposition of Waves - A Level Physics

This video introduces the superposition of waves for A Level Physics.
One wave that interferes with another wave will be superimposed on that wave. Wave superposition is simply the sum of two waves at any point and is used in data transfer and frequency modulation.
If two waves combine in phase then constructive interference will occur but if they're 180 degrees out of phase (anti-phase) then destructive interference will occur.

Superpositon is when two waves are overlapping each other. When two waves are superimposed, they will interfere with each other. (the magnitude of the displacements of the waves combine to form the resultant wave) and that is what the video is explaining.

Appreciate this reply is 4 years late. But I believe this would be applied in any situation where waves of the same type are moving along different vectors (speed or direction) and interfere with each other.

@@maxhodder6505 I guess doesn't matter which way horizontally it's moving (as per the conventional drawing) but crest and trough postiions matter for two super posing waves
