I've had my Glacier for like over a month now and they are easily my End-Game IEM's. Even as someone who owns the Monarch Mk 3, these bring so much presence and tactile feeling to the music that I find it very easy to get immersed in whatever I'm watching or listening to. The bass is immense and punchy and the treble is also very present with a lot of texture. Absolutely amazing IEM's and would recommend.

In my experience in-ear Harman Target works great for modern pop music and is hit or miss with other genres.
@haomingli61758 ай бұрын
i think it is less about the genre but about how the music is produced. if the studio that produced the music has conditions similar to those assumed for the development of the harman target (flat speakers in an anechoic chamber placed in a room with reverb time of around 0.4 seconds), then supposedly it should sound decent, if you trust that the producer has good tastes.

904L steel has high resistance to acids and corrosion in general. It is most famously used by Rolex because it can be mirror polished to a higher degree and is more esthetically pleasing than 316L that most of the watch industry uses. 316L is slightly harder however.

It's cool to see new choice, but I wish Dunu (and others) would also flesh out the $750-850 segment more. I've never owned a Dunu IEM, and don't actually ever own multiple IEM's due to their price. I don't believe I'd be blown away with a SA6 MKII/original based on your listening impressions. There seems to be less choice in $700-850 area, which is a little sad. I know there are offerings in the $750-850 category, but in the main - there are more $600 and below. Then they jump up to $1,000-1,100 and beyond. My preference would be, that if I were to sink $1300 into such an IEM purchase - I'd be expecting something that can hit 5 stars out of the box. My views would be very similar to Mark's, as we both really like the S8 despite its tuning. It looks like to me, that Chi-Fi are really pushing more products at kilobuck ranges that aren't totally appealing? Greed? I guess it's just smart marketing on their part. But that's not a qstn that needs an answer, more of an observation. I think the pristine look of the shells/white cables won't hold up over time too. I appreciate the score has (in part) a leaning regarding tonal preference to a small degree too. On my budget, to shell out $1300, I'd be looking to be blown away, and see 5 stars. That's just me. Hope you can review the ThieAudio Prestige Ltd Mark, some people heap high praise on them. They'd be a great comparison against the Mon MKII/Glacier/Mirai etc... hope you can beg/steal/borrow a set. As someone who owns the Glacier, the fingerprints are not as bad as you'd think. Even as a person with kinda oily hands. Funny how subjective the IEMs are. You, Mark, emphasize smooth treble while Resolve complains about a considerable treble peak that makes Glacier unacceptable for him personally.
Part of it is fit. I believe he talked about why IEMs mightn't suit someone's listening preference; if the fit is somewhat off, it can change how an IEM sounds to someone. Another question, you seem to be kind of outside the box as a reviewer of audio gear, so I am not directing this at you, so much, but why isn’t there more of a premium placed on reviewers who have perfect pitch, you know, natural musicians, to be reviewing this stuff? Often the people who review audio gear couldn’t carry a tune if their lives depended on it. To me, this should be a basic pre-requisite for reviewing sound.
