Honestly though, it still is not user-replaceable battery. The only thing they've done is - they've replaced glue with screws for back panel. Which is great, but... the battery is still glued in place and uses connector which means some type of electronics/protection circuit on the battery itself, which greately complicates things. Finding suitable lipo pouch, figuring out how to transfer protection circuit, gluing the battery in... at this point removing typical glued glass would not make that much of a difference.

@@SuperReview no, the note 5 was abetter device than the note 6. It also had batter impact resistance because the back would act as a deformation zone and pop of instead of breaking. @@SuperReview You're the best! I ordered now the hiby r6 gen III after I didn't like the tubes on the cayin n3 ultra very much and it's not worth to compromise on everything else, I hope I will be satisfied this time. Btw from where did you got the leather back sticker on the hiby?

Ibasso needs to get rid of that volume wheel.

What's your beef with the wheel?
@joestrickl2 ай бұрын
The wheel works well and gives you many more increments of volume control than buttons usually provide.

This is the first time I’ve come across a review of an audio device in which not a word was said about the actual sound of the device...)) First time.

I did talk about the things that are relevant. Are you disappointed I didn't make up stuff about soundstage and brightness vs. warmth?

@@SuperReview Judging by the fact that your favorite player is the dull and muddy Aimp, I fully admit that you simply cannot hear the difference in the sound of audio devices...

@@Stoyakoff2024Yeah, I‘m also surprised and somewhat shocked. My No.1 reason for different DAC amps and DAPs by far is always sound quality/timbre. How can this not be (that) relevant in a music sound producing device? 😳

Generally I like your reviews but this is weird review as there is no description of the subjective sound of this dap.

That is true of all my DAP reviews, I don't believe there are sound differences to be explained.

If you primarily stream, definitely DX180. If you primarily use Poweramp, R5G2. The battery life on R5G2 is too good.

I like my ibasso DX120 because it runs an OS that is simple, light, and optimized for listening to music. It doesn't have a general purpose OS like Android that is for smart phone and should never be on a purist's music player. If you want all those apps and smart phone features...use your smart phone. Another thing... the higher-end iBasso players like the DX260 can boot into MangoOS (better for music players) but this DX180 can't. You're locked into Android.

The European Union has passed a law that states, every electronic device with an internal battery, I.e: phones,tablets daps & laptops must have a removeable battery that can be replaced easily by the consumer. I think it comes into law in 2027. Every company will have removable backs by then.

@@tan_ori customers do want that, but the manufacturers took away the option on their later devices. Manufacturers have created monopolies where they can be hostile towards consumers and go unpunished. This is how monopolies work. It's why Google is fined by the FTC. It is necessary to hold companies to the standards the electorate voted for. Not everyone has the option to vote with their wallet. Everyone has the option to vote for members of government to annact apon laws that the citizens voted for. The EU commission is a democracy voted by the people, while the US is a VC dystopia.
