Lovely. Though, the red lockinf tab on male connector usually needs locking by a screwdriver or similar. However, it would be nice to know how to depin both male and female connectors, eg with TE depinning tool.

Dear Jeoka Gem3, there are other crimping tools that are much cheaper. However, they will not guarantee the durability and quality of crimping as the TE Connectivity 58583-1 crimping tool. The production process of high-quality tools is more accurate and of high precision. So when you crimp, there are no doubts, and if you followed the instructions you will not have to repeat it again.

I use Durite crimpers. Cost about £35 ($50). Very solid high quality reliable crimpers. They work fine for assembling connectors.

I can't push the pins enough for them to click in the male connector. The wire bends long before they click into place. I had to use a pair of pliers to pull the pins from the other side until they clicked, which I am sure isn't best practice. You mentioned to CTZN that the red cap doesn't need to be removed from the connector. If I remove it, would it allow me to install the pins easier, and if so, how do I take it out? Thanks! Edit for the keyboard warriors: Yes, the cables are the right gauge/diameter (both the insulation diameter and the actual wire).

For the male contact, how do i get out the red clip inside?

Dear CTZN, there is no need in taking out the red cap from the male connector. After you crimped the male contact, you simply push it into the connector just like for the female part at 5:50. Although, if you need to take the male or the female contacts out of the connector, TE Connectivity has a special tool for that. I assume the male part of the connection pushed through the holes of the red cap and make a connection all leading to a water tight seal

Dear Cedrik, after crimping the female contact at 5:34, Agnieszka inserts it to the connector itself (5:49) and covers it with the red cap. At 6:05 , there is the other side of the connector, the male contacts. And as diamondheat9 assumed - and was right, the male contacts are going through the red cap. We hope it helped.

Completely useless video. So you need an over 300 pound/euro/whatever tool to use a cheap connector system otherwise it is going to be dangerous. Haha.
