Woah, it actually sounds okay for how it looks! I've seen so many of those cheap systems with the big dust-cap speakers that sounded worse than my old Durabrand.

ya! Sounds good, digitally converts great (shockingly) compared to this same unit under the QFX brand. The 8-bit guy did his review and it converted like sh*t... 64kbps and the pitch was higher than the original source.

I've had both the QFX and the SUPERSONIC; they're exactly the same. Please note that as for such products in general, often it's a matter of luck that one identical boombox might be better than the other (for example, as far as the cassette playing, etc.). Supersonic, though, is a "better-known" brand name than QFX, and it has been around since the 1970's (?). QFX was established in 1990 (over 30 years ago). Sometimes, of course, it's a question of a little imperfection one out of several hundreds coming out of the factory. I'm sure that they're both manufactured under one roof, in the same factory, but under two different brand names. Thanks.

SHORTWAVE STATIONS AND RECEPTION - Since the Internet, where virtually all SW stations moved to, there are hardly any SW stations that are available on an average SW radio (unless one uses a roof antenna or is a long-time DXer). @J.L.123
@J.L.123 3 жыл бұрын
The SW bands (since the Internet, where virtually all SW stations moved to, there are hardly any SW stations that are available on an average SW radio (unless one uses a roof antenna or is a long-time DXer), the quality of the FM, AM, the qualities of recording playbacks (USB, Memory Card, Cassette). I don't believe there's any difference in quality between the QFX brand version and the Supersonic. Their prices are about the same (Amazon and Walmart, for example: currently under $40. I don't recommend buying a used one for about $10 less, by the way, because the mechanical features of such units, e.g., the cassette, in particular, won't go for more than 50-100-150-200 hours of recording/playback on a new one, unless you're one of the few lucky ones with a unit that's of superior workmanship) and they look 100% identical, and when you buy either of the two brands, you might end up with a lemon, you might end up with one or two of the numerous features failing to function optimally shortly or after 100 hours or so...or, if you're lucky, or hardly use the unit except for the AM/FM bands...this product may very well go for years or even indefinitely (like in the old days of Panasonic, Sony...brands of radio)....Oh, please note that the table-top record-and-playback cassette units (no radio or any other features except the cassette on those table-tops that were meant exclusively for cassette use) would last me for several hundred hours (the Panasonics those days proved to be the very best; Hitachi and Sony...were among the second-best makes). Having said all that, I have one simple, humble advice: In view of all the money we waste these days on so many hardly edible sandwiches, fast foods, etc., and clothes we don't wear and don't bother about the headaches of returning, etc. for the price of under $40, these "boomboxes" (with so many features) are worthwhile; or else, you have to pay well over two, three or four times the price to get something that would likely be qualitatively superior and MAY last longer; perhaps. Thanks for your time for reading my comment.

@@christronicsdereksrandomness36 - Sorry, I was NOT referring to particular machines, but IN GENERAL - regardless of the equipment used - do both USB's and Memory Cards record and play back EQUALLY well? Some support person told me that USB's record/play back's better than Memory Cards, and I ended up buying USB's instead of Memory Cards, or both. Yes, I do use both, but the brands I'm using are Lexar (the card) and SanDisk (the USB). I'm relatively new to using digital, although I've been using cassettes for several decades. So, everthing else being equal, which of the two should I be using for optimal quality? Memory Cards or USB's? Thanks, and I wish you the best. @@J.L.123 ahh ok um I've not noticed any difference between using the USB or SD for ether playback and recordings. It all comes down to the unit its self (least that's how I see it) I've got plenty of boomboxes that have usb/SD rec capabilities and some sound like it's underwater, some lack in the bass department, while others sound great. To me it's all about what is used to digitize the audio. Some components are cheaper than others.

H O W D O Y O U U S E THE MEMORY CARD and the USB buttons ? ? ? While recording from the radio and a commercial pops up and you want to P A U S E when using the MEMORY CARD or when using the USB ??? How do you pause and then continue the recording ??? How do you properly erase a particular "file" or "folder" or the whole card, for instance ? ? ? Well first of all this isn't a review video it's just a first impressions video. Now I don't think there's a pause feature while recording, and as for erasing a file or the whole memory card/USB I'm not sure as I have no need to use that feature. It's easier for me to just use a computer for that. Now as of erasing a single song (keep in mind that what I'm about to say is just a guess) I'd assume while listening to the song you want gone you'd ether press the rec/del or hold for a few seconds.

@@christronicsdereksrandomness36 I don't know if you have the device handy, but if you check to the left side of the first button, there are two little pause and arrow symbols/icons. Perhaps these indicate PAUSE and PLAY. I know that the third and fourth buttons are for FAST FORWARD and FAST REWIND (when pressing and holding down) and just pressing once you go to the next recording...or to the previous recording. Unfortunately, I couldn't find a manual that explains everything. Oh, there are, of course, three ways to use the second button (from the left) - if I'm not mistaken - simple press once; long-press; and also double press/click.... I'll never understand why some of these manufacturers don't bother to publish a complete, thorough "how-to" manual - in complete detail. Imagine, how much time it's going to save them and the time the support personnel would save their time, and, especially, the users of such devices who won't get confused and annoyed, often providing negative reviews merely due to an incomplete manual...rather than leaving most things for the final consumer and user to figure out things - by trial and error.... Thanks, again, for your responses.

Update: It does playback its own recordings.
