awww, one of my former professors wrote that Flora of Middle Earth book. It was a passion project of his for a very long time and he's the nicest, most genuine guy. So happy to see non-botanists enjoying his work too!!!!

WHAT! That's SO cool! As soon as I heard about it I immediately ordered it! I love plants and wildlife and I'm thrilled that someone took the time to write about all of the nature in Middle Earth!

I remember seeing a bunch of sketches and notes scattered around his office and it was just so cool! I haven't read through it myself yet, but I am definitely looking forward to it. Just knowing it exists out in the world makes me happy :)

I really hope you will like And I Darken !! It is from far, one of my favorite serie ever, but again, I'm kind of obsessed with Vlad's story. It really feels close to the original story/history!!

Love the edition of Alaadin! Barnes and Noble always has the best leatherbound classics. My personal favorites from B&N are Frankenstein and Grimm's Fairytales.

They really do! I look at their website once a week to see if they announce any new ones! I think my favorite is the pink hardcover of Alice in Wonderland or the blue Snow Queen!

I recently picked up The Crown's Game and As I Darken as well! And I love the Defy the Worlds ARC cover so much better than the final one! I don't think the new covers are bad, I just love the design of the old ones. I'll be really interested to hear your thoughts, Kristin! I haven't picked up the sequel yet but Defy the Stars is one of my favorite sci-fi books. And I actually just got that beautiful edition of Rebecca as well! My mother surprised me with it for my birthday. Have you read du Maurier's My Cousin Rachel? I love that one just as much as Rebecca, maybe even a little more! Such an atmospheric and fascinating mystery. I'm so excited for the Queens of Innis Lear! We need MORE Shakespeare retellings in my opinion! Great haul, Kristin! Definitely a lot of very exciting books! :)

Have you tried looking on Abe Books for the UK hardcover of An Ember in the Ashes? They usually have books that are out of print.

So many books! I got The Crown's Game on kindle, hopefully I'll read it in the summer! I'd love to see what you think of it when you read it. Did you enjoy The Night Circus? I think they have the magical competition element in common. Oh and The Grimm Lovelies sounds intriguing! The Themis Files are beautiful in both the UK and the US editions, but I'm listening to the audionooks so I'm forbiding myself to buy the physical books as well. I quite liked To Kill A Kingdom, but the ending... such a generic YA finale, I wantrd something more.

I love both Jude and Cardan! And I think people see Jude as unreliable because she's constantly plotting and tends to surprise the reader in the moment with her decisions.
