I know as an African rooting for Ghana I was quite pissed off at the time, but when I think back I think it’s because at that time Suarez was a known cheat, he would go as far as taking chunks off other players arms just to get ahead, he would dive and scream and harass the referee when he doesn’t get penalties and against SA in the same tournament he took a dive had our keeper sent off and then won an unfair penalty in the process. They ended up winning 3-0 agains a 10 man SA, a team already inferior in quality to Suarez so my anger was, why must he cheat when he can just win fairly and they were going to win anyways…add Ghana to that and I really got mad 😡 that this guy screwed Africa over, twice IN AFRICA!!! The nerve, I thought to myself! But what a pleasure it was to see him suffer yesterday, happy Ghana denied him the pleasure of going through even if it was for nothing in return for Ghana!
