Love this for you! I’m getting my MA first before applying to PhD programs. This was helpful! I have a 3.5 GPA too but I’m focusing on having volunteer work and teaching experience!

Hi, thank you for posting this video. It is really informative! Honestly, I’m a little anxious about my GPA. I have a 3.3 in my bachelors and a 3.9 in masters. Although I have research experience, I would like some tips as to what I could do to offset my undergrad scores. Thanks a lot!

Your GPA is fine and shouldn't cause any issues. My general advice would be to write the best statement of purpose (SOP) you can, it's the very first thing most admission committees read before they even look at GPA or test scores. If you can get as many people to read it, preferably professors or current PhD students that helps a lot because they might catch things that you miss. The best SOP should explain why your chosen research topic is important and how the school can help facilitate it. Good luck and reach out if you have any more question!

Thanks for your comment! I can make a future video about grad school funding but usually programs in the US cover tuition and give you a stipend to live on so if you get into a program the finances are usually covered in some way.

I worked 3 jobs all of undergrad too so my masters one is a bit better lol

My program average is 5-6 years! And I would love to be a professor but I'm also passionate about media so I'm open to being a museum curator or tv/film consultant, whichever feels right in the moment.

I didn’t! The only program I interviewed for was UPenn but most history programs don’t do interviews. It’s department specific though because other departments at Brown do
