The more I watch these performances, the more I think that this was one of the best rock concerts ever.

Supertramp were a British rock band that experienced massive global success in 1979 with their sixth album Breakfast in America. It's from wiki and nobody revised it

What a beautiful song!! From a legendary band!
@WilliamJones-sf5pt2 жыл бұрын
The amazing aspect about this song is that it is the conclusion of the A side of the LP. B sides weren't taken very seriously. A support of strings was introduced at this point as Rick did a masterful job keeping the anticlimactic from happening after Roger's over the top, quite soggy 'cake left out in the rain' "Hide in your Shell."

Bob had to be great as Rick as a drummer prior to him was a masterful percussionist himself.

Agreed. He gives great dynamics to every song. Especially in Goodbye Stranger when he kicks off Roger's guitar solo.
When he dusts his fingers off to chime the bell. Impressive
@kittflamer-caldera96212 жыл бұрын
Roger managing to switch guitars during the outro is insane (I genuinely don’t think it’s edited either. You can hear him briefly stop playing when Rick says “But what kind of friend are you”). Took me several viewings to even notice

Wondered how at 3:39 John Helliwell stopped playing the sax but you can still hear it?
@kittflamer-caldera96212 жыл бұрын
Apparently John mentioned in an interview that they added a few overdubs to the Paris album, which was used as the audio for this DVD, so that's probably why
@kittflamer-caldera96212 жыл бұрын
Actually, I take back my previous statement. I was recently watching another performance from this show and realized it didn’t contain the overdubs that were heard on the Paris LP, which means this clip of John was actually just badly synced-up lol
