I would be the same mate , I’ve always put bet n tidy above speed so it’s very hard to completely change your technique especially in a very high pressure environment. Credit for having a go buddy 🧱🧱🤙🏾👍🏽

Thanks buddy appreciate it, don’t know how familiar you are with myself but I could lay a turd and make it look good and should no better but I love brickwork so why not,I’m gonna spend this next year trying some things and go again not for the hope but for winning more for the crack and the atmosphere 😊

This video echoes the experience I had Mark, pretty near to the word. However, what a day, and the respect shown by all was amazing 👌🙏 It's a pleasure to be part of the 'Bricklaying world' even with all it's ups and downs 👊

Yeah I loved the event and the people I met including yourself were great 👍🏻 Bricklaying is not a job to me, I love it like yourself ✊I’ll be at supertrowel final to watch Hope you see you there

@@RosierConstruction Yes Mark, hope to be there 👍. Nice to catch up with you and your hoddy to. In hindsight, wouldn't have missed it for the world but legs aching like fuck today. Didn't help relaying 7 of those blocks to tighten the joints up 🤣

Probably being harsh to your self, I imagine most people would have lost their confidence if that started happening to them. Staying in it even though you want to leave is not to be sniffed at. Not easy to do and shows a level of strength. May of been a totally different story if you got a good start and found your stride. 👍

No I don’t think I have a 15th gear, I was gifted with finesse over speed clearly , no disrespect to the lads that succeeded but it’s a case of horses for courses ✊

Well hopefully there’ll be a more skill based event in the future and I’ll be more comfortable 😂😂I could lay a turd and make it look neat,just clearly haven’t got a 15th gear you need for that event 😂

@@RosierConstruction unfortunately comps are all about speed.

@@bricklayersworldwithandy6277 yes they are but do they have to be ? If you had a set design with numerous elements in a set time! I get that it may not get the interest but if you think practically there were brickies who left me for dead yesterday but if I started an extension at the exact same time I would probably get it to plate quicker as it’s down to more than speed alone, as you know 😊

@@RosierConstruction Totally agree, no disrespect to Supertrowel as they are doing a great job but its just easier to keep it simple.

Seen Andy’s video you didn’t look comfortable with it buddy. Fair play honest review. Clean tidy work will always make better money in the long run more so domestically. Would be great to see Charlie go over and take on the American boys. Think if wins this which should easy pickings my opinion of course it’s must he gets entered for the spec try win the big bucks and truck they give away over there.

IMO the entire idea of the supertrowel competition represents to a large degree what is wrong with the construction trades in the UK. Not winning it is no failure mate.
@RosierConstruction5 ай бұрын
I do get your point in some way as everyone wants to be fast, now I don’t consider myself slow and other than yesterday never been left for dead by anyone and you wouldn’t be able to go at that speed in real life and expect to be paid but honestly I can’t take anything away from them lads yesterday and although I would love to see an event more skill/detail orientated it probably wouldn’t muster the interest like a race does! The community it’s brings though is great and I felt that first hand and it’s brickies/ personalities I may never have met if it wasn’t for supertrowel, so I am for it 👍🏻
@kevocos5 ай бұрын
@@RosierConstruction I know you rate quality above speed so I'd think your being polite in your response, 😁 I'm not a brickie and without knowing anything about these competitions I would hazard a guess that there are supertrowel competitions certainly the US and likely Oz. However, I doubt they exist in Belgium and Holland. With that if you know anything about brickwork, the emergent of a bricklaying speed competition in the UK (and 2year apprenticeships) tells you all you need to know about the state of the construction trades here.

@@kevocos I’m being genuine about the event, I think it’s a good thing for our industry but yes quality and knowledge I hold higher than speed for sure
