What's so fucked up about the Sean getting arrested ending that I don't think a lot of the people who like the ending realize is that Sean is a kid too. Everyone loves the ending because Daniel was able to live a normal and safe life, but Sean literally spent the rest of his adolescence and all of his 20's behind bars, robbing him of some of the most fun times of his life. For a crime he didn't commit, that is undoubtedly fucked up and I truly can not see how anyone could see that as a happy ending. Sure the whole car repair thing was shady as hell, but both of them were free and happy, ready to live the rest of their lives in whatever way they want.
@dinodare16053 жыл бұрын
I also consider the innocent not spending a second behind bars to be a virtue in and off itself. I'm shocked that people in developed countries with due process would not also hold that virtue to a high regard.
@roseofthegarden_3 жыл бұрын
Same. I never understood how anyone could call that the best ending. Way to ignore how Sean got absolutely screwed from the start. Has to watch his dad get gunned down by the law, yet is expected to trust the law to help him? Goes through all that shit only to get put in prison for 15 years, facing who knows what behind bars. Poor guy came out looking lost and broken, but cool at least Daniel is okay? Fuck that. Parting Ways is the best ending. Sean doesn't go to jail and Daniel lives a relatively normal life.

@@dinodare1605 except they really aren't innocent anymore because in the end they killed innocent people just doing their job. Don't get me wrong I think that's the best ending but realistically they could of stayed in the car and floated the car over the border instead of destroying them

@@iamepic6726 Everyone says to float the car, but they don't do that in a single ending. So my theory is that Daniel just can't do that. @i.o47662 жыл бұрын
I agree with the ending, but not because I think Roshi is a realist. I think he's deluded. He will be the first one to talk about high morals and point it out in individuals but be the complete hypocrite when it comes to moments like these where he will discard his morals. In the name of survival, is it really okay to just kill anyone in your way? Sean made the mistake of running and now he's in a very much irreversible situation. I know he's a kid at the end of the day, but 16 years is old enough to know not to run away from police in the middle of a crime scene. He didn't know the outcome and ran, making him look suspicious in the first place. I'm not saying what happened to him was right but running caused a series of events that led to more people dying and a lot of evidence piled against him. At that point, you need to face the music. And if you disagree, fine, but don't act like you have moral superiority if you do, as that's called being two-faced. This is not against you, but against Roshi, who is as two-faced as they come in terms of morality.

@@i.o4766 You don't know what the word "two-faced" means. It isn't hypocritical to have morals and then do something that YOU deem morally wrong. If you're consistent with your morals than even Roshi's ending is an honest and morally consistent one. Personally I'd say that the best ending if you care about saving lives is the one where only Sean goes to Mexico, but if you care about the brothers being together (which there is a good case for) them Blood Brothers is the best ending. No ending where Sean goes to jail is just, I can say this and be completely consistent with all of my real life morals. It isn't two-faced even if you don't like it.
@blatherskite77293 жыл бұрын
Personally, I think there's a difference between a good ending and a favourite ending. My favourite ending was the one where Sean went to prison and Daniel grew up without him. It's depressing and tragic but I feel the most emotion out of it. The best ending would be the one where they live separately. They both got to live the live they want. But again, the best ending doesn't have to be the one you like most.
@roseofthegarden_3 жыл бұрын
I feel like the reason it had the most emotion, is because its the one filled with the most injustice. It shows how the system failed them entirely, especially if your Sean has high morality, he was overall innocent from the start, yet suffers prison, God knows what he went through being in there, then comes out looking miserable and broken. Daniel lives a good life. But Sean gets the shit end. Roshi spoke facts when he says people who consider the jail endings the "best," are only looking at ut from one side and ignoring the bs Sean has to face. And I agree, Parting Ways is absolutely the best ending imo if you went for high morality.

Yeah I like this game because every ending even the "good" ones have some sort of tragedy to them. If Sean goes to prison, he still gets to reconnect with his brother at the end, but has to suffer fifteen years behind bars. If they cross the border together, they get to stay together but have lost some of their morality along the way. If they get seperated they get to live the lives they want, just not with each other. I think the best ending depends a person to person basis and how you view the brother's relationship. I got the prison ending because as a big brother myself, I thought finally having peace was in Daniel's best interest, and I played as Shaun with the intent of staying moral while putting Daniel first.

I know I'm late but I just wanted to comment my experience and cover a common misconception about this game. I didn't kill the lady, or the cougar that ate mushroom. Only the two cops from when you break free. In the final section where Daniel frees Sean from the police, he refused to take revenge on the vigilantes and said "that's not who we are". He also avoided to hurt anyone as much as possible. When he busted me out he said "Oh did I hurt him? Is he ok?" Instead of "dude who cares". My Daniel had very high morality. And I STILL got the blood brothers ending. Hear me out, it's not about low or high morality. Daniel 's choices are influenced by two values not one 1. Morality 2. Brotherhood The blood brothers ending doesn't necessarily mean Daniel is a menace. It just means he prioritizes his brother when it comes to survival. It just means his brotherhood value was higher. My Daniel had both high morality (I avoided hurting people if there was an alternative), but higher brotherhood (you spend time with him as much as possible, make him trust you and encourage him to use his power when needed, instead of scolding him. I also stole the camping gear because I wanted to keep Daniel safe so I was like fuck it, that dude deserved to be hit in the head) So yeah, your Daniel doesn't have to be a savage with no morals in order for him to cross the border with Sean. And I don't regret my ending in the slightest nor do I prefer another

Like Roshi said people don't play the game as if it were THEM in that situation, the majority of people like the ending were Sean goes to prison because they use the high morality to justify their "im a good person" lie. No one would go to jail and waste years of their life away for a crime they didnt commit on purpose, although it is a thing that happens to many innocent people. Best ending was both brothers being able to live a life together away from all the drama that kept following them. Chris(aka Captain spirit) and Lyla would be able to go visit them if their friendship were that important to them. Mexico has its problems but luckily Daniel had a means to fight back against the corruption that plagues it. What made me sad and is true is the whole border wall bs, theres no wall up north, why? Because they don't want the people suffering and hoping for a better tomorrow to just keep suffering. The wall of berlin of the modern era. Bigoted people that actually look at Mexicans and other immigrants like parasites, instead of people suffering from a system that failed them trying to find a better life.

What she did was definitely fucked up but it wasn't totally cruel to be considered as “irredeemable”. For me, it makes sense that she thought the Diaz family would just forget about her if she disappeared from their life completely because it really tells us that she isn't (or wasn't) meant for commitment. For what it’s worth, Karen could start being there for her children now and with a clean slate. Someone did mention from the previous episode that maybe she did end up regretting her decisions and she’s just acting like she didn’t, so now she’s making an effort to be a mother. The thing about super powers is that if we look at it realistically, there is no world where people have super powers where you can have order and equality. If a person cannot be shot, that takes away all of the government's power. Why does Superman obey the law? Because he consents to the law. Why do WE obey the law? We have no choice. We would have to get lucky that the people who are too powerful to not be above the law aren't going to break it. What Roshi said is realistic. So your End was the best end imo bc they could Stay together but my fav was the one where sean got shot or wenn to prison bc it wrecked me emotionally. Sometimes sad endings can be the fav ones.

Roshi: “I want to see the postcard Joyce sent David!” Also Roshi: immediately runs away when he can eavesdrop on David talking to Joyce in the phone (would’ve been Chloe if she wasn’t sacrificed, they have a much better relationship in that reality)

Sean snitched and snitches are treated the same as predators. Those 15 years was spent as "Sheana" with a mop weave on his head

You guys got the best ending in my book. The whole story surrounds the brotherly relationship of Daniel and Sean, and having them together at the ends feels right. They followed their fathers wishes of going to Mexico, and goes back to the peace Sean wanted for him and his brother. In the terms of the brothers journey, they got the best ending.

I'm glad I chose the Arcadia Bay Destruction ending for LiS1 after finishing this game, considering David made it out alive and looks significantly happier, having made up with Chloe, staying in touch with her and Max and all. Sucks for Joyce, who I also liked, but I figure just about any loving parent would rather their kid live on instead of themselves. Other than them, Arcadia Bay was mostly a population of shitstain teenagers and shitstain adults, so while obviously not everybody deserved to die, I don't have much to be upset about there.

Since the third game hasn't happened (only two lis has happened) want to give my ranking of the powers. 1. Rewind power. Not sure how I feel about this being number 1. Still don't know any info about the power in lis3 so beside daniel power. I feel like rewinding time isn't that bad plus I wouldn't use it often, going back in time when u need to feels like a good thing. 2. Telekinesis. Reason for being number 2 is that if I had telekinesis it would be a liability just like daniel/sean would and had to get though. Not taking a power such as that would literally destroy my life.

I believe the game would have been alot better if they let you be the character who had the powers, and let you have more of the ability to use them or not.
