Given recent events, should humans? Just by the nature of how our species works, any large societal system we build Will fall and ruin the lives of everyone participating at the time of failure. Having machines capable of making logical(if limited) decisions not based on emotions or generational bias may be one of the necessary steps for creating governments stable enough to function on astrological scales. Otherwise our solar-system alone would be a lawless wasteland of factionalism post space-age.
