Exactly what I was thinking… my lady has dementia and of course memory problems…can’t remember my time… I cannot believe a mentally I’ll person is a supervisor! Not ok

Yeah this doesn't make sense. LOL 😆 The system is screwy. Even my great nonna who hired her own maids had a hard time and she didn't get IHSS because she didn't struggle to communicate or anything. I can't imagine someone with a cognitive or communicative disability trying to handle this. I'm the caregiver for my child that barely communicates so this doesn't apply. 😞 Hard to find info for protective supervision that makes sense too....they have me sign as the employee and as the supervisor. 🙈

@@ari3lz3pp I sit here in pain. It's been over 2 years since I wrote that comment. I still do not have a caregiver. I still struggle. I still suffer. I am still alive. Ari I am sad and sorry for the way you been treated. I am not defending medicine. I can help you understand it though. Caregivers are actually not a covered medical expense in the USA. Programs have surfaced with limited funding. Medicine is not a 'right' in this world! Some in the Church would rather argue and let us die for less suffering. Suffering and death is guaranteed. I pray everyday to Father to Heal the financial part of our Medical system. You will do your best I know this. Moms are the best. Thank you for sharing your struggle. I pray you are doing well and your family is. Amen.

The recipient as the employer? Give me a break. A provider can tell a recipient no to any requests made by the recipient. The provider holds five aces in their hand. If the recipient doesn't agree to the provider's demands, the provider can say, "okay go ahead and find another provider." A recipient who does not have a close family member as a provider is up the creek. There is virtually no help for a senior disabled recipient to get assistance in receiving help in finding providers.. what recipient wants to be abandoned by a provider? The provider can tell a recipient to approve twice the number of hours that the provider actually is in the home of the recipient helping. They can and do get away with that. And there are many other ways that providers can commit fraud. The recipient is helpless in trying to prevent such fraud. Because if they refused to comply with the providers demands they know that they will be abandoned. So don't say the IHS recipient is the employer. They are always subject to the demands of each provider.

You are so correct. Anyone who believes otherwise is not dealing with reality. It is a great way for the state and county to dump on disabled or elderly individuals who have difficulty taking care of themselves not to mention supervising another person who has all five Aces.

All the money the County gives to social workers that work at IHHS should all be sent home forever! What a waste of good money going bad! I am still in need of a caregiver. I am still and always will be brain damaged from my stroke! Emotionally I feel good. Hope never ends in my mind. Luckily I have a microwave and paper products. As far as Social workers who lie and trick and pass blame, shame, shame, shame on you. God is watching you. I know, I am still here after all your abuse and he has me still living to set the record straight 😁
