Around 120 Nottinghamshire residents with a learning disability, mental illness and Asperger’s Syndrome are to move out of residential care and into support living homes as part of a three-year Nottinghamshire County Council plan.
Supported living homes tend to be self-contained apartments or bungalows with on-site care and support and allow residents to have greater independence than traditional residential care.
This video shows Paul Lawrence, Paul Hutchinson, Cathryn Greaves and Pam Burgass in their new supported living bungalow in Newark, which was set up in partnership with Golden Lane House. The group previously lived together in a care home
