You want tougher testing for PIP entitlement, and yet the current testing process is one of the most degrading, horrific, and stressful processes. My wife was in tears after being totally embarrassed by the questions asked and her having to explain and demonstrate the most private things she has to do as a disabled woman. Her medical record show that she needs a double hip replacement, a knee replacement, and 3 vertibrea fusing. She has to take morphine to get through the day. It should be clear from her records that she passes the criteria for pip without humiliating her. Im discusted with this government. Why dont you fix the nhs then maybe you would see less people claming pip while the wait for treatment. Typical tories attack the disabled instead of fixing the real problem

The social contract is broken and it was broken by the government. Why would anybody ever want to work when work no longer pays and vast swathes of working people have to claim benefits in order to barely survive? People live paycheck to paycheck. Nobody can save any more. The cost of living is beyond ludicrous and the chances for the younger generation to own their own homes shrinks further every day. Nobody wants to have children or start a family because the financial burden of doing so is just too great to bear. The middle-class is all but gone and the divide between the rich and the working class is widening. People work only to line the pockets of their corporate masters and there's little to no reward for themselves. I personally don't blame anyone who wants no part in that. The younger generation are not stupid. They can see there is no point. I see their unwillingness to participate as a type of protest. And now the tories are coming for the disabled and most vulnerable section of society. SHAME. Any country can and should be judged on how it treats its most vulnerable and Great Britain....well it isn't so great any longer.

Rishi, I agree that since COVID people have become more accustom to doing less, I think it made people unmotivated in some sense as they got paid to do not a lot. I think some of the ideas here are good, and I agree with you that work in the right profession can seriously improve someone's wellbeing, especially when the hunger to do more and get a better job is the goal. I think there needs to be more done to make work pay, we need to give the people at the bottom almost no income tax so work pays for them, we also need the top 1% to keep paying the 30% of all tax income, so I'm not sure how this Nom-Dom abolishment will effect that.... I think something that gets forgotten is free and healthy ways of transportation, during my time in France I was able to ride my bike every day on a cycle path, a free and clean way for me to get to where I was going along with the added benefit of doing exercise there and back. (Less obesity and good for mental health as a result) In the UK riding a bike is not desirable as you generally have a frustrated driver up your ass looking to get around you, I have also been frustrated as a driver in this situation so I understand it from both sides. Other than the main large cities there are almost no cycle paths, if we converted some paths or added markings to some roads I think this would benefit millions of people, having the option to bike to the pub or see family or friends would not have to be done via a car = Less congestion. As someone who spend some time in France and other European countries like Germany and The Netherlands it is very clear to see the UK is seriously lacking in this department, I would imagine it also contributes to the lower obesity rates in European countries with this infrastructure. Measures like this may also reduce the welfare list too = Cheaper to get to work + Unfit become fitter = Less strain on NHS and Welfare budget.

Enjoy riding your bike until you have healthy knees .For me is hard to get to bed in evening and takes more harder with pain and stiff joints to get out of bed in the mornings. It takes with tears to walk to wc .And to do a care of my disabled husband all 24 hours. When you are young you never think that older age is not your friend anymore. And I am only 54 .

From the government ONS: "The estimated number of vacancies in January to March 2024 was 916,000, a decrease of 13,000 or 1.4% from October to December 2023. Vacancy numbers fell on the quarter for the 21st consecutive period in January to March 2024, despite vacancies falling in only 8 of the 18 industry sectors. Total estimated vacancies were down by 204,000 in January to March 2024 from the level of a year previously, although they remained 120,000 above their pre-coronavirus (COVID-19) January to March 2020 levels. The number of unemployed people per vacancy was 1.6 in December 2023 to February 2024, up from 1.4 the previous quarter (September to November 2023), with vacancies falling and unemployment increasing."

Rishi went to Oxford then got a scholarship at Stanford and then worked for Goldman Sachs and then became an MP, Chancellor (just before a pandemic) and eventually Prime Minister all on merit. His dad was a GP and mum was a pharmacist. Those saying he got it easy in life please use your brains.

All this can be true and he can still be a wretched person who has destroyed public services, reduced trust in the UK, responsible for rampant corruption and hiring racist deputy leader Lee Anderson. So you see this picture perfect narcissist upbringing doesnt count for anything if you are inherently a bad person - you deliberately are looking through the wrong lens.

Rishi got it easy because he was never criticised for having stupid and ignorant views against disabled people, his parents are to blame for his stupid views just as much as he is, so theres your amazing background for you - its totally worthless when you values are manure

You will need it when you're out of a job and then you will have plenty of time working the sums out so when you do get a job as the prime minister of the Amazon tribes you can explain your plans to them. Plus you can recommend some English courses to the tribes. good luck and bye-bye

To control crime in Britain we must change the constitution. No fear of police. Coz punishment is not strong. Law is too weak. If we make strong law hope crime will be sorted.

I am not against to whoever legitimately needs the benefits , but let’s be honest , there are people who find it easy and they accommodate, I have been living in this country for 20’years , was granted my British citizenship, never ever applied for benefits, I work hard and pay my taxes , it is frustrating to see how easy it is to breach the system, it is a ship sinking , the only ones paying for that are us !

I'm sorry Rishi but all of your policies are completely tone deaf to the majority of us. This one in particular is very poorly thought out because you are trying to legislate away an issue that is emerging from poor social wellbeing in this country, not laziness. As a neuroscientist I find your understanding of mental health worrying, I would equate this to making a man with a broken leg run while he's still in a cast to make it heal faster
