@robertkoonce8365
@robertkoonce8365 Ай бұрын
You don't have to have a tax stamp for a muffler on a black powder gun. Maxim built the silencers, and patented them as silencers rather than suppressors. Which is why they are still called silencers under the law.

A few years ago, you could mail order a black powder rifle, with a suppressor, and have it sent straight to your house thru the USPS. Don't know if you still can, but the law hasn't changed since then. It's no different than suppressing an air rifle.

Thanks for your video content and I am a avid Sportsman since the early 80s and I have only used muzzleloader and Bow. I did 1 hunt with a 12 gauge shotgun and 1 hunt with 308 Browning and I have never gone back to them I love the challenge and the heritage of primitive hunting and target and I have thought about putting a suppressor on my 72 caliber because of how loud it is and I always get feedback from my neighbors and how loud. I have just tried not to use or practice or play with them and the 50 caliber iny backyard on my property. I remember the 1st time I even had the Sheriff show up and asked if I was shooting. I was in my backyard and was with everything out and expressed that it was ony private property and he expressed that I was not in City limits and I was all good and it was call's from neighbors concerned about the loud cannons going off and not the usual gunfire. If I had such a thing as suppressor I would be saving on our tax Dollars being wasted $ because they have to show up even though they already know it's not a problem just that my muzzleloaders and very loud and boy I could be having more fun and time practicing and target shooting. Plus winning and new muzzleloader and suppressor would be so cool and awesome. I Love to shoot every day if possible. I have been practicing and target shooting with my bow more just trying to not PO the neighbors. I was wondering approximate cost to adding a suppressor to a muzzleloader? Just in case I don't win the gift or prize. God Bless and Be Safe Dale. PS happy Shooting!! 😂🎉

The misfires come from using the wrong size cap. #11 caps are usually a LOT easier to find than musket caps (used in Civil War replicas) or #10 caps (used on Italian replica revolvers). It's pretty cool to suppress anything. Blackpowder, on the federal level, is not regulated as a firearm, so you can put as short a barrel as you want, even make it fully automatic, if you can. Technically the Nock Volley gun and several other volley guns would be machine guns since you're firing more than one shot with one action of the trigger. Silencerco used to sell a blackpowder rifle with an integral suppressor. Sir Hiram Maxim invented the machinegun and helped develop smokeless powder. Hiram Maxim, Sir Hiram's son, watched his dad lose his hearing developing machine guns and smokeless powder and invented the firearm silencer aka suppressor aka "muffler". Sir Hiram Maxim's nephew, also named Hiram Maxim, worked with Carl Benz to develop car engines. Benz wasn't not impressed and was just about to fire him from the shop when Hiram copied his cousin's notes and figured you could stick a similar device to a car's exhaust to make it quieter and give it back pressure, boosting the power.
