That one nuke launcher destroyed 12,5% of all the mass produced by enemy team in an epic game. Brilliant!

A theory for the miracle at 39:55. As the nuke explodes the hit box of the transport is just outside the full-damage radius but the carried SCU closest to the nuke is inside the full-damage radius. The transport takes 500 damage from the nuke and 1000 damage from the SCU explosion. A Sera T2 transport has 1625 HP. When you hover your mouse over it after the miracle, it has 121 HP. 1625 HP - 500 HP - 1000 HP = 125 HP. Don't know about the missing 4 HP, but the maths is close. So, the nuke does not "blast one of the SCUs out of the transport", the nuke kills one of the SCUs, and its wreck falls out. All four SCUs that are in the water near where the wreck falls were there already before this miracle.

@@r3dp9 No doubt. Team 2 had a definite disadvantage with the 800/900 players. Lots of instability through the first half with the lowest ranked player being given the causeway bridgehead position. That was some serious strugglebus gameplay . Trying to make expensive naval units instead of focusing on ground forces and letting the top left run navy... Didn't work out too well for him.

Zmei was truly terrific. Too bad about that sound bug. Still a bit weird nukedefs weren't spammed all over as soon as first one dropped, but that's SC 4v4 for you

I love the mass flack defence. I think people sleep on mass flack, it just really punishes any of the normal "circle" play for ASFs, and basically eliminates t3 gunships from contention entirely. All that for a relatively cheap lategame investiment as well.

Zmei Gorinich is a three (usually, may be 6, 9 or 12) headed dragon-like monster from Russian folktales. "Zmei" means "serpent", "Gorinich" may be translated as "fiery".

I'm not sure on this one. Early on DePony wins air superiority in a BIG way and goes for mass torpeod bomber spam to buy the North pond like... 5 minutes of life when he could have built 10 strat bombers and carpet bombed blue and grey's mass to death then looped round both sides and dropped all remaining bombs dead centre on the T3 Air HQ. It's a game winning play surely? No aircraft left. One or two SAM sites. Fly ASF's in ahead of the bombers... its surefire. I respect the attempt to hold the pond but the eco kill was wide open and he could have capitalised on that air dominance to ENSURE it continued. As it was he let team 1 back into this game in a huge way.

I'm struggling to understand how things turned so badly against team 1. It wasn't even that they got their SMD sniped either. Zme had incredible mass production for most of the late game and seemingly accomplished so little with it.

min 33 you can see pony snipe smds for the nukes and he does so every few mins after gyle never picked it up, yellow was t2 bombed in mid and it looks like he went for red smd at same time

Are there any Seton's variants in which the sea zones are drained? Would make for an interesting match. I know everyone is dedicated to Setons its one of like two maps in FAF since SupCom1 was the multiplayer client.

I strongly suspect the whole "no nuke sound" claim was just an attempt to save face after the initial nuke which took out the first batch of support commanders (who wouldn't have escaped anyway, what are they going to do, jump off the cliff into the water?), and then Zmei had to maintain the lie for the rest of the game. Besides which, having nuke sounds would have made pratically no difference. It wouldn't have magically meant the SMD on the side island was loaded. It wouldn't have saved his base. It wouldn't have saved rock.

no nuke sound glitch does happen, had it happen to me, to couple of other people. it's rare and it's probably fault of some ui mods he had (if he had any) tho nuke sound didnt matter cause DePonny spammed them, and zmei could have predicted it, and already had anti nuke loaded on island and couple in his base. his fault 100%. oh and nuke sound glitch matters only in first 1-3 nukes probably, after that it's your fault for not having anti, in my opinion.

Why didn't Zmei use teleport on his support commanders. He had plenty of them and could've made small little bases or attack vital points. He wasted dozens of them. Poor play from him, feeding the grinder piece by piece at the end. Or maybe not even use teleport and just have guncom instead. Use the transports on the cliff and the beach, with shields they are hard to take down
